Well booted into windows and the card was detected and works perfect,  Listerning to Kisstory player as we speak with no problems.    I think Im going to start again.  I've played around so much with my kext files I've prob messed something up.   Lucky I've got another 500gb drive,  Can use this so I don't have to touch my current instal as this dose work (just not perfect)   I will also take notes as I'm doing this so I can maybe give Phiber some more tips on how to get it running.       Should Any Apple branded card work?  £4 from ebay!  Can't go wrong lol

@phiber - I think your Mavericks hard drive should be accessible from your VM of OS X

@druvix - any Apple branded wifi card from a system that supports Mavericks should work without modification.  You should be able to see if the wifi card works when you load the installer, I know when I start mine up, my wifi shows up and I am able to connect to my network.

I did get the harddrive hooked up to my VM and install everything that I believe I was supposed to install.

I've just started again with a fresh install also made a new copy of the Instal USB,  I've left everything in the bios at defaults,  had to boot with flags -v -f -x and its booted straight away.   one thing I couldn't do was get anything to happen on my screen after -v text without first plugging in a USB keyboard and mouse.    for some reason although my trackpad and built in keyboard was working fine, OSX didn't think it had any input devices and kept asking for me to connect my bluetooth mouse and keyboard.   I booted again without my USB bluetooth stick and it just froze at a grey screen for 10 mins after going through the -v mode without any obvious faults.

Anyway after trying this with a standard keyboard and mouse plugged in, it went straight onto the install screen after displaying verbose text.    not sure why mine is doing this and not sure if this could be a problem for anyone else and might be a reason why some can't get any further?

@phiber - you have both the VoodooPS2 and ApplePS2 kexts installed, you need to remove the VoodooPS2 kext.  After you do that, rebuild the extensions.mkext and put it in the startup folder that my instructions tells you and boot with -v -f again.

@druvix - it sounds to me that you missed the VoodooPS2 kext in your installer.  Check to make sure it's there.  When the USB Bluetooth is installed it will look for a keyboard and mouse if there is no USB keyboard or mouse plugged in.

I meant everything that I listed in steps 6 through 9.  I guess I can make it a little simpler.  The attached zip file is for the POST INSTALL only.

NEW POST INSTALL STEPS

1. Copy /Extra folder from Mav_USB to root of Mavericks hard drive

2. Download the zip file attached

3. Open System/Library/Extensions folder

4. Delete AppleRTC, AppleHDA, and AppleSmartBatteryManager

5. Extract the Zip file

6. Place all the kexts included in the zip file into the System/Library/Extensions folder

7. Build the extensions.mkext by dragging the extensions folder to Kext Utility

8. Copy the extensions.mkext to System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup

9. Install Chameleon r2269 with FileNVRAM module selected (Hit the customize button and it's under Modules)

10. Reboot system and use –v –f in Chameleon, if everything went right you should get the OS X setup screen

11. Set up your system

12. Open terminal and do the following

·       sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0   (this is used to fix sleep issues)

·       sudo nvram -d boot-args   (stops Chameleon from remembering boot flags)

13. Delete nvram.plist in from your /Extra folder

14. Reboot computer, boot into BIOS (F2) and turn off Intel Dynamic Acceleration to allow processor to run at full speed in OS X

15. Boot into OS X and enjoy.

You can use the org.chameleon.Boot.plist and SMBios.plist that I included in your extras folder if you think you're having issues with them.

You only need the VoodooPS2Controller.kext in the DarwinX package for the USB INSTALLER.  Do not use is in your hard drive.

I know I'm not the only one on earth, but I sure am the only one on InsanelyMac.  It's a great laptop and I like the all black look.  I bought it specifically so I could install OS X on it and I got a great deal.

I get much better reception and I had redone this laptop for hacking so I had 3 wifi cards internally and the one that was external. I still have it setup for hacking usually but now i had to change some of the cards out to match what is needed for the hackintosh, which is still giving me the same problem don't know if I'm going to start over or not maybe this weekend I will.

I would try removing a few of those wifi cards and only leaving one in during the installation process, not sure if it is causing a problem or not, but having more than one installed could be causing conflicts.

just wanted you guys to check out this page http://www.osxlatitude.com/tuning-performance-with-fakesmc-smbios-plist/

i downloaded newest kozlek fakesmc+hwmonitor and downgraded my smc version to 1.16f11 (01160F00 0011) and changed value of "smc compatible" string from "smc-*something*" to "smc-santarosa".im using the same 5,1smbios though.i can confirm speedsteping works a lot better, there are more speedstep stages now (even different frequencies(multipliers) on cores) and i did get a better geek bench results for a 100(geek bench 3).also the computer doesn't heat at all anymore when doing simple tasks like youtube (and if you have 1720 you now how hot it can get especially the gpu)

Hey everyone, I realized I made a mistake in my instructions.  In the post installation instructions, I stated that you need to make the extensions.mkext using Kext Wizard, it should be Kext Utility.  That could be a reason some of you are having issues.
