Meaning NIC is OK, and recognized by the RTL81xx kext (which the latest ##### versions use). ravendawson
I just found a good site that has a handy tool that can automate the task of updating realtek green ethernet drivers. Haven't personally tried it yet, but thought it may be worth sharing. http://www.driversdownloadhub.com/realtek-drivers.htm

aao_pink
Does RTL8111E support Auto MDIX? I have GA P55A-UD3 mobo with this chip, and it's running fine with Lnx2mac's driver (cheers bro!), but, I've gotten so used to using modern real Mac 'puters which can be plugged back to back or to other devices without worrying about a hub or crossover cable, and this 8111 won't do that. Realtek have a "features" sheet http://www.realtek.com/products/productsVi...&ProdID=239 which it claims can slice. dice, and serve 37 flavors of hot and cold beverages, but it doesn't say outright "Yes it does AutoMDIX", unless it's a hidden feature in one of those IEEE specs. Or a feature that isn't activated (yet) by this driver?

bOsSX
For Lion 10.7 on GigaByte mobo: if RealtekRTL81xx.kext doesn't for or work only if a cable was connected, you need to disable "Green Lan" in Bios Setup under Integrated Peripherals... Now works great!!!
ApexDE
With SnowLeopard i could use my onboard 8111C LAN with Apples kext. With Lion i had to use a extra kext for LAN. SnowLeopards LAN kext worked perfectly for me, even WOL did work fine. Under Lion, the onboard LAN isn't recognized anymore. Does anyone know why? Is it possible to force the Apple kext to recognize the onboard LAN? I guess some plist hacking is necessary?
geticus
Hi guys I have some strange behavior with my RTL8111E on the new B3 MSI P67A-GD65 mobo. For B2 version Lnx2mac's driver (many thanks to him) was perfect. After upgrade I'm using the official one I can use internet, but Mail.app can't connect to the server. I have to put the computer on Sleep and come back to allow Mail.app to connect properly. Any idea ? Thanks
