eodul
My config : Asus P5K-E (Bios 1202 or 1305) LGA775 Intel E6750 (Overclocked 3,41Ghz) Disk in Sata & IDE Audio ALC883 Graphics : Nvidia 8400 GS Lan : Marvell Yukon 88E8056 I was in 10.7.2. I don't remember what I did. Everything worked without DSDT. I tried an install of 10.9 over my 10.7.2 (Not a clean install) 1st try everything works except IDE and sound. With the good kext I had a perfect 10.9. Update, works on it all day, lots of restart. I tried to use the sleep : KP, reboot and impossible to see the desk. Clean install and it was the worst idea. Of course I erased the old extra and all the kext I used for 10.7.2. Since everything works except the ethernet. If I patch the IONetworkFamily, use another one who is already patched, or an injector for this card, system hang-on and I must disabled the card to start the OS. All the files seems to work with people with the same OS and same Motherboard. I'm sure it could be work because of my first install. I updated the bios, CMOS, tried lots of configuration with it, etc.... I tried all the boot flag and looks the verbose mode. I think I used all the files, "all-in-one" or installer we can find on the web. I'm stuck... styrian
Where have you installed your kexts? You can try the one from Downloads. It should also work on 10.9. If you have in your Extra folder a folder Extensions, install all the needed kexts to S/L/E. No more kexts in Extra since 10.8.0. Put your injektor kext to trash. You could also edit the infoplist of 10.9 yukon2. kext. As I remember, there are only two values tu change. Just compare with infoplist of kext form Downloads. Have fun. eodul
My kext are all in S/L/E. Nothing in the Extra/extensions. I tried the files of the dl section. It's the first link of my first post and one of the file I joined. You could also edit the infoplist of 10.9 yukon2. kext. As I remember, there are only two values tu change. Just compare with infoplist of kext form Downloads I did. Exactly I copied the directory 88E8056 of the IONetwork here, in my IONetworkFamily/PlugIn/AppleYukon2/Info.plist with the other devices. Doesn't work, same problem. I'll try to just change the vendor and device ID of another device to see and if it doesn't work too, I'll post it here
styrian
Try the attched kext. Vanilla with added 56 ID. For met it is working. If you have your 10.7 upgraded there could be much disturbing garbage of hackinotsh Lion install. It is better to do a fresh 10.9. AppleYoukon2.kext stopped working with npci=0x3000. Have fun. eodul
Your files is one I used. So I changed the 88E8053 in a 88E8056. Juts change the device ID with the good one and RxDeadman in 60. But same problem. If I disabled the card in the bios I can see the desk. Otherwise it freeze almost at the same time. It's the same if I use the boot cache or with npci=0x3000. It's just before the login screen. Perhaps something with graphics or something related ? Here the verbose which is the same if I boot just with kernel cache or with npci=0x3000 PS : Attached my patched IONetwork. Someone can tell me but i think it's good IONetworkingFamily.kext.zip
Gringo Vermelho
Don't patch kexts - you'll lose your patch on the next OS update. Leave IONetworkingFamily and everything in it the way it is, and use this technique to build a legacy "plist-only" kext: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/157881-how-to-make-a-legacy-kext-marvell-yukon-88e8056/ It looks like your kernel panic is caused by one or more conflicting or unneeded sensor plugins inside fakesmc.kext. Try removing them. The UART messages are kind of cute, but unless you're actually using your serial port for anything, disable it in the BIOS. eodul
Thx for your answer but which plugin in fakeSMC ? I can't joined the log in console of the fail boot. So here it is: http://speedy.sh/Pa5zv/Boot-fail.log In the verbose it's just before the SMC Platform plugin start
eodul
Edit : If you talk about fakeSMC sensor plugin I don't have any. Just the last fakeSMC and no plugin folder in.
rlf
I looked through your log file and there is not a single word in there about ethernet. Nothing. If you didn't mention it, there would be no evidence that it even existed. But there are a lot of "problems" noted in the log. And for a fresh installation, you have a lot of "{censored}" installed already. You have several things related to hardware sensors. You have sensor kexts in FakeSMC.kext. You have the Bresink monitoring package (with kexts) and you have iStat. None of them are playing nice. You have things like Private Eye, Radio Silence, TechToolPro that are not working. Mail and Calendar have problems. iCloud and iMessages have problems. Plex, Adobe Acrobat and Google Update don't have problems but log a lot of items. There are problems trying to install things in your upper menu bar - Clock and Volume. If this is the log of a failed boot, why are menu items even involved? My suggestion - find an empty partition somewhere and make a fresh installation. Do not install any extras. Work out the problems with OSX and your hardware. Then SLOWLY add extra items and debug as necessary. 20/11/2013 18:04:06,000 kernel[0] "name" not a kext 20/11/2013 18:04:06,000 kernel[0] "Kernel-__SYMTAB" not a kext 20/11/2013 18:04:06,000 kernel[0] "DriversPackage-2300000" not a kext 20/11/2013 18:04:06,000 kernel[0] Backtrace 0xffffff80006b769e 0xffffff80006b7fd8 0xffffff80006b860d 0xffffff80006bb29f 0xffffff7f81c204b9 0xffffff800069297f 0xffffff800069253f 20/11/2013 18:04:06,000 kernel[0] Kernel Extensions in backtrace: 20/11/2013 18:04:06,000 kernel[0] com.apple.driver.AppleRTC(2.0)[CFCC2C74-8190-3459-B0CA-FA543CC0DEFC]@0xffffff7f81c1f000->0xffffff7f81c28fff 20/11/2013 18:04:06,000 kernel[0] dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily(1.4)[045D5D6F-AD1E-36DB-A249-A346E2B48E54]@0xffffff7f815d7000 20/11/2013 18:04:06,000 kernel[0] Backtrace 0xffffff80006b7239 0xffffff80006b6d1d 0xffffff7f819759a6 0xffffff7f819750f1 0xffffff8000692180 0xffffff800068e119 0xffffff8000693093 20/11/2013 18:04:06,000 kernel[0] Kernel Extensions in backtrace: 20/11/2013 18:04:06,000 kernel[0] org.netkas.driver.FakeSMC(820.0)[E88DCBC2-F742-36C0-AA90-BE2C62DB995B]@0xffffff7f8196f000->0xffffff7f81984fff 20/11/2013 18:04:13,286 com.apple.kextd[12] Can't open CFBundle for /Applications/Private Eye.app/Contents/Resources/Private Eye.kext. 20/11/2013 18:04:13,286 com.apple.kextd[12] Can't open CFBundle for /Applications/Private Eye.app/Contents/Resources/Private Eye.kext. 20/11/2013 18:04:13,286 com.apple.kextd[12] Error: Kext /Applications/Private Eye.app/Contents/Resources/Private Eye.kext - not found/unable to create. 20/11/2013 18:04:13,287 com.apple.kextd[12] Can't open CFBundle for /Applications/Radio Silence.app/Contents/Resources/Radio Silence.kext. 20/11/2013 18:04:13,287 com.apple.kextd[12] Can't open CFBundle for /Applications/Radio Silence.app/Contents/Resources/Radio Silence.kext. 20/11/2013 18:04:13,287 com.apple.kextd[12] Error: Kext /Applications/Radio Silence.app/Contents/Resources/Radio Silence.kext - not found/unable to create. 20/11/2013 18:04:13,309 com.apple.launchd[1] (com.radiosilenceapp.nke.PrivateEye[66]) Exited with code: 71 20/11/2013 18:04:13,309 com.apple.launchd[1] (com.radiosilenceapp.nke[67]) Exited with code: 71 20/11/2013 18:04:17,000 kernel[0] fsevents: watcher com.freemacsoft. eodul
I tried to use the sleep : KP, reboot and impossible to see the desk. Yes... It works. I'm not sure but I think the answer was here . rlf said to me it was hardware. Before I buy another card I tried to use my live CD of Ubuntu. Firefox works and I did a research. Reboot on OSX and in verbose I saw (...AppleYukon...). I stopped breathing, login screen, desktop, 67 mails and sound enabled ! I think devices was in sleep and nothing to wake up or something like that. So really thanks for your time. Solved ! PS: Actually I use the legacy of styrian. I'll try later the others to see if there was a problem in the files too.

Phil511
@styrian, Thanks for your Legacy AppleYukon2Kext. It solved my App Store sign in problem (Your device or computer cannot be verified. Please contact Support). I installed Marvell YukonLAN 88E8056 kext through modified IONetworkingFamily.kext. That messed up the connection. I have Rosewill N900PCE wifi-card with Atheros 9380 whcih was detected by Mavericks 10.9.1. To access App Store, one must have connection through Ethernet once. In my case if I have Marvell Yukon 88R8056 kext installed through IONetwrokingFamily.kext, my wifi is shut permanently. By using your LegacyAppleYukon2.kext, it did not mess up the IONetworkingFamily.kext. I was able to add Ethernet (en0) first and then Ethernet (en1) and then finally Atheros Wi-Fi as en2. No more App Store problem.
plprado
Hi People, a little off topic but since this is about the same ethernet card maybe someone can help me. Since Mavericks I've been getting a lot of system freezes, always when the ethernet is being used heavily. The last message on console before the freezes is always this: 26/07/14 13:19:34,000 kernel[0]: AppleYukon2: 00000000,00000004 sk98osx sky2 - - sk98osx_sky2::replaceOrCopyPacket tried N times 26/07/14 13:19:34,000 kernel[0]: AppleYukon2: 00000000,00000005 sk98osx sky2 - - sk98osx_sky2::replaceOrCopyPacket tried N times 26/07/14 13:19:34,000 kernel[0]: AppleYukon2: 00000000,00000035 sk98osx sky2 - - sk98osx_sky2::replaceOrCopyPacket tried N times 26/07/14 13:19:35,000 kernel[0]: AppleYukon2: 00000000,000003e8 sk98osx sky2 - - sk98osx_sky2::replaceOrCopyPacket timedout 26/07/14 13:19:35,000 kernel[0]: AppleYukon2: 00000000,00000000 skgehw - cppSkDrvEvent - SK_DRV_RX_OVERFLOW: rcv fifo overflow 26/07/14 13:19:35,000 kernel[0]: AppleYukon2: 00000000,00000000 skgehw - cppSkDrvEvent - now preventing C4 low power state due to the switch ignoring pause packets 26/07/14 13:19:35,000 kernel[0]: AppleYukon2: 00000000,00000000 sky2 - RX ring overflow -- dropped a packet I have tried patching ionetworking manually (method I always used successfully) and the rest of the kexts on the first post but I'm still getting these freezes. Phr4c7ur3
I'm driving myself mad trying to resolve this. I have an Asus P6T Deluxe V2 with the same Yukon Ethernet and I have been trying to get it working for 2 weeks. This thread is marked as ""Answered" but I can't see which post resolved it...perhaps I'm just stupid? The Kexts I've installed so far seem to have no effect whatsoever and I'm not even convinced they're installing properly...but I'm not sure how to check...Do I just check S/L/E? rlf
The OP tried to install various kexts and could not get his ethernet to work. I pointed out that he had a problem with his motherboard. Once he solved that problem, he used one of the kexts to get his ethernet working. I have Yukon 88E8056 and I use an injector kext to inject my device id into the built-in Yukon kext. I've been using this since maybe Lion and it still works for Yosemite. Be sure to install the kext using Kext Wizard. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/253395-kext-wizard-easy-to-use-kext-installer-and-more/ In fact, use Kext Wizard to repair the permissions on your installation and to rebuild your cache. The injector kext is here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=130985
Phr4c7ur3
Thank you so much for your reply, rlf. I'll try that put now and report back. I actually jumped back over to my original thread at http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/300036-asus-p6t-deluxe-v2-ethernet-and-sound-issues-post-intall/ where I've just posted an update regarding missing info.plist files. I'll stay on my original thread now to avoid confusion. Thank you again.
