denbie
Hello, after some trouble I finally managed to install Mavericks onto my ancient hardware: - Gigabyte 965P-DS4 - Core2Duo E6600 - nVidia GeForce 210 Only problem for now is: I only get a picture if the PC is connected by HDMI to my TV. PC-Monitors connected by DVI and/or VGA do not get a signal and turn to stand-by. I tried to alter this by setting the parameter display_cfg in the Graphics Injector options of Clover from 0 to 1, but that doesn't solve this issue. Any hints would be appreciated. Best regards, Dennis
gothomasc
"Finally in some last attempt I copied all NVD*.kext from /S/L/E of DP8 to the GM I have installed" http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/292483-fixed-nvidia-9400gt-1024mb-on-109-gm/?p=1953198 I used this method on ASUS 210 and it worked. gothomasc
Hi, Denbie You can try efi string for your GF210
denbie
Short update on this It turned out that it doesn't matter which connector I choose. Only if I use more than one connector at a time the screens go black. If I use EFI-String my system reboots before I see the Desktop. The kexts from DP8 don't change anything for me. I added the keys VideoPorts and NVCAP to the config.plist of Clover. Now I have working dual screen using DVI and VGA. Didn't test HDMI. Unfortunately my VGA monitor stucks at 1024x768 although its native resolution is 1280x1024 which I cannot select. I'll try to patch the VBIOS later. Nother problem is the inactivity of QE/CI. Youtube videos hang after 7 seconds... EDIT Got full resolution by editing /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist. If this file is empty you need to change your monitors resolution to something else than optimal and reboot. Also edit the com.apple.windowserver-XXX.plist under /Users/user/Library/Preferences/ByHost. Change the values for height and width and their limits. Still no working Quartz though. BigMacPlz
Hi Denbie, I have the same motherboard as you Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4 running core2quad Q6700 \8GB memory. I have spent about 20 hrs trying to install either 10.7\8\9 but no luck. What enabled you to get to the Maverick installation screen (assuming you used USB flash drive install like myhack?). I get a KP restart after Starting Darwin at "Boot Args: Boot-UUID.... "see attached screenshot. I've tried all the tricks I can think of, too many to list here. So can you tell me exactly what you did to get to the install screen. Really appreciate it! Thanks! BigMacPlz
denbie
Hi BigMacPlz, as I did not use MyHack I can not help you with this. But I will give you detailed instructions how I got this running. For me I have to say this was the easiest installation ever. What you need to have: - a working Mac or Hackintosh - a 8GB thumb drive - the Mavericks.app from AppStore What to do: Insert your thumb drive. In Disk Utility partition it as GUID with one partition using Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Name the partition "Stick". Open Terminal. Assuming the Mavericks.app is located under Applications, put in this: sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia ––volume /Volumes/Stick ––applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app ––nointeraction Wait for it to finish. Download Clover from here. Install Clover to your thumb drive. Make the following adjustment: Under "Themes" choose "bootcamp". After installation finished in Finder go to "Stick"/EFI/CLOVER. Open config.plist with Xcode or Plist Editor. Make the following settings: - Under Boot/Arguments type in: -v darkwake=0 arch=x86_64 Kernel=mach_kernel - Set Devices/Audio/Inject to "1" - Set GUI/Theme to "bootcamp" - Set Graphics/Inject/NVidia to "YES" - Set Graphics/Inject/Intel to "NO" - Under Graphics add a key "VideoPorts", set its type to "Number" and its value to "2". - Under Graphics add a key "NVCAP", type "String", value "04000000000001000e0000000000000700000000". - Save Place the kext's in the attachment of this post to "Stick"/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.9 Reboot Press "F12" to select your boot device. Choose the thumb drive. When Clover appears select your thumb drive and press "Space". Choose "Boot without cache and with injected kexts" and press Return. After a while (this can last a few minutes) the install screen appears. Install as usual. When the system reboots follow 10 + 11. After installation finished follow 10 + 11, but this time choose the drive you installed onto. Don't forget to boot without caches and with injected kexts. You should now have a fully working Mac OS Mavericks. Last but not least install Clover to your hard disk. Edit the config.plist as above. Place the kexts in the attachment to /System/Library/Extensions and repair permissions. Reboot, remove the stick and boot from your HDD. In Clover just choose your HDD and press Return. Good luck.
