Mavericks Realtek ALC AppleHDA Audio

I posted this over in the Yosemite area, but it's actually a Mavericks problem.

When I patch AppleHDA it works great.. *IF* I boot with 'ignore caches'.  Otherwise, it does not.  I've added the AppleHDA kexts to the AppleKextsExclude.kext but still no luck.  Anyone have any suggestions.  Minor issue, but driving me nuts.T

Thanks.

Hi I'm having trouble getting audio to work using the Clover method, I can see the Intel High Definition Audio in the System Information, with all the relevant ports, however under Settings/Sound there are no output devices listed.  Configuration as follows:-

1. OSX version/motherboard model/Bios version/Processor/Graphics

OSX 10.9.3, Gigabyte GA-87X-HD3, Intel 3.4Ghz Core I5, ATI Radeon 4890

2. Procedure Used

Clover Patched Realtek ALC Installation

3. IOReg

Attached IOReg.zip

4 Chameleon

Not Applicable

5 Clover

Attached Clover.zip

Any help you can provide to get this working will be much appreciated.

Attached AppleHDA.kext.zip

Ran the wrong script.

Fix: Install the native AppleHDA.kext (2.9 MB), Backup is Desktop/audio_ALC892/AppleHDA.kext-orig.kext

Run Downloads/audio_ALC892-master/cloverALC/audio_cloverALC892-90_patch.command

Hint: delete all audio_alc892-9x_patch.commands

Many thanks that fixed it, I think I got confused by reading the requirements section and seeing that alc892-93 being listed as for Mavericks 10.9.3/AppleHDA.kext_v2.6.1 and so ran that script first, before the script in the CloverALC directory.

Hi,

We can run : audio_cloverALC1150-90_patch on 10.9.3 AppleHDA ? It's not specified.

EDIT :

Answer = no.

My setup :

Clover 2716 - 10.9.4 + AppleHDA from 10.9.0 - Asus Maximus VII Gene

-> config.plist edited as it should be

-> RealtekALC.kext where it should be

-> patched AppleHDA as it should be

And..... it works :)

Thank you very much Toleda.

Subject to random KP at boot unfortunately. AppleHDA 2.5.2 Dependencies bla.

toleda/audio_CloverHDMI/README/6. Mavericks Version/3. 10.9 (-90) works in 10.9 or newer.

audio_cloverALC1150-90_patch works on all versions of Mavericks.

10.9.4/AppleHDA.kext should be v2.6.1, not v2.5.2

Fix:

Install the native AppleHDA_v2.6.1

Run audio_cloverALC1150-90_patch.command

Wait for kernel cache rebuild

Reastart

Hi,

i have trouble using the clover method. The ports are shown but i don't get output at the green port. When i connect speaker to the front port the "IntSpeakers" switches to "Headphones" and i get an output. But the green port doesn't work.

My System: 10.9.4/GA-Z97X-UD5H/F7/I7-4770k/GTX770

I hope i attached everything you need and you solve this problem.

But the green port doesn't work.

Known 9 Series/1150 problem, no fix available at this time.

If convenient and willing, try the following experiment:

1. Backup EFI/Clover/kexts/10.9/realtekALC.kext

2. Remove EFI/Clover/kexts/10.9/realtekALC.kext

3. Restart

4. Verify motherboard green audio (note: use 1st Line Out, Internal Speakers will not show and Headphones not available)

5. Make a new IOReg

6. Restore EFI/Clover/kexts/10.9/realtekALC.kext

7. Restart

Reply with motherboard green sound Y/N and IOReg.

Hi,

thanks for the answer. Well, the green port still doesn't work but i could hear some "noise" when moving files to the trash and switching the sound effects in the systemconfig. I attached the IOReg without installed realtekALC.kext.

I also attached a AppleHDA.kext from ##### which works fine for me when using chameleon with

<key>HDAEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>HDEFLayoutID</key>
<string>01000000</string>

in the org.chameleon.Boot.plist. But i was not able to inject this kext using clover. Maybe it can help you to solve my problem?

Thanks.  confirm green port works with attached AppleHDA.kext in Chameleon.

For Clover, remove:

1. config.plist/KernelAndKextPatches/KextsToPatch/Item 0, Item 1 and Item 2

2. EFI/Clover/kexts/10.9/realtekALC.kext.

config.plist/Devices/Audio/Inject/1 is correct.

Somehow after updating from iTunes 11.2.2 to 11.3, the AppleHDAController (temporary) patch in Clover caused a KP. I removed it from my config.plist and now I'm booting fine. Even though I highly doubt an iTunes update can mess up the AppleHDAController patch, I'm pretty sure that's the only thing I updated.

This post is just to inform to anyone that a KP after updating iTunes might be the cause of AppleHDAController.

Here are some specs:
10.9.4 with Clover and home made Fusion Drive
ALC892
GA-B75N motherboard with newest F5 BIOS

IOReg and config.plist found in the attachments.
