this has probably been covered so I apologize.

1.  Can you boot straight into osx without seeing the clover screen?  Because when I reboot it goes to clover screen (and autoboots in 5seconds)

2. Do I have to boot into osx without cache and with injected kexts everytime?

3.  My sound wont install unless I choose without cache and with injected kexts.  Why?  If I reboot in normal the sound device wont load.  What do I need to do?

4.  I sometimes get kext errors saying that they have been installed incorrectly, not sure what causes the error to pop up as it seems to happen randomly.

Thanks for everyones hard work and help.

Realtek 802.11ac (1GigE WiFi)

Realtek RTL8811AU based 802.11ac GigE usb WIFI adapter driver for the Surface Pro.

Confirmed LinkSYS WUSB6300 adapter working on my I5 based desktop, (See signature),  with OSX 10.9.2 Mavericks. Link shows all the supported devices for the driver, it is in .pkg installer.

Completed my install on my SurfacePro with the Paid Touch-base drivers, for both the Pen & Gestures, works very good, I calibrated it, configured it to open the virtual keyboard for entering text, and if you type "ink in the search bar in System Preferences, you can set handwriting to "ON".

You have it configured to automatically pop up the onscreen keyboard?? I have enabled the on screen keyboard and can select it on the desktop menu, but didnt know you could configure it to automatically pop up.. Is this what you mean?! :-)

@minimojoman

To get it to boot directly, its best to download and install clover configure, open up the config and set it up through that. There are threads that explains it.

Boot w/out cache and injected kext when you made a change, like installing a kext/whatever.

For sound, try reinstalling it.

The kext not being installed properly can happen, you can download kextdrop or whatever kext installing utility to reinstall those that are coming up, reboot without cache and injected kext and see if that works.

I have successfully installed to a SSD partition on a Surface Pro 2 i5 4300U. I did not have a USB 3.0 stick available, so used USB 2.0. Install was slow, which I expected - took near an hour.

I can now start clover via same USB 2 stick and boot to OS X, but it takes 10+ minutes to boot. I thought once I got to clover, it would then boot quickly from the SSD. Is this expected booting from a USB 2.0 stick?

Once in OS X, everything is so slow. Finder takes 10s to change folders on the SSD, starting any program much longer. So currently it is unusable. I tried re-installing, but ran into the same problem. Does any one have any idea what I am doing wrong?

Where can I find the USB uefi boot files for SurfacePro1?  I created a USB boot disk with Win 8 Enterprise and it works but does not have all the drivers for the Surface Pro.  The wifi doesn't work.  I tried copying the install.wim file from the recovery partition on the Surface Pro and I get the blue screen of death.  I think the uefi doesn't match.

I want to dual boot between mavericks and win8.

Thanks in advance.

Some people have had issues with slowness. Odd though, and kudos for having the patience for waiting an hour with a 2.0, I went out and bought a 3.0 just because of this forum and it's been great.

Anywho, It may be worth a try to use an external hard drive and see if you can install it from that and see if it a faster install time would help.

@doannis,

you probably have the UPDD driver installed. If I install the version without pen proximity, the pen and touch digitizer work fine but I can no longer control the volume via the hw-buttons on the side of the Surface. When I install the version that does support proximity, I can use the volume buttons but the driver won't let me calibrate the pen. I've made Dave from Touch-Base aware of this but haven't heard back from him yet.

That would be the case then. I just installed the software updd driver.

@Thatoneging,  Thanks after messing with it I finally got it to work.  So I completely reformatted my SP1 SSD and installed ONLY mavericks.  So if I want windows 8 back again is it possible to use disc utility to create a second partition and then boot off a windows 8 USB and install it to that partition?? What type of partition do I need to create??

@tyroiii - why dont you download the wifi drivers and put them on a usb stick and install them from there??

Just to clarify, if applied, the 10.9.2 update, require the reinstallation via KextDrop of the v0.3 patched extra kext .

Have Fun.

@minimojoman

to reinstall win8.1 use bootcamp or rufus (or another usbpendrivecreator) on a windows pc, just remember to use clean win8.1 professional only, or you'll not be able to activate your serial number via kms...

on the installer use a generic 8.1 professional key.

@minimojoman - thanks for the suggestion.  I downloaded the drivers from MS and the drivers work.  My USB stick still won't boot and it has the wim, which I assume has the product key.  Right now, I have the 90 trial version.

I managed to get the mavericks USB to boot and I get to clover, but when I try to boot the install partition, it goes half way and then I get the ghost buster symbol.  Almost there...

Anyone know who patched the mach_kernel for the SP2? There's no credit (or method/s on how to do it).

We should probably try to get 10.9.2 working eh?

I'm having problems installing mavericks.  i can get into the installation and run disk utility.  However, when I tried to install osx, i get a message that says I need an internet connection.  I don't have my wifi key yet, but even if I get it, how do I install using a usb pen and the wifi key at the same time?

i'm also using this way to activate mac's virtual keyboard. however, i don't know how to input som characters, such as $,@, etc. since i can't hold shift on virtual keyboard

how do you guys do it?

After installing the touch-base drivers, I opened up the UPDD Gestures Preferences, went to the Other Settings tab and checked "Automatically display on-screen keyboard when a text field is focused".

So far with the dock, I have the dual screen video working and the sound with no modifications.  The only thing that I am having an issue with is the network.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Also, are there 9 other people interested in getting the Touch-Base driver?

@Ikyo75

(this is a universal way to find drivers for your devices on osx)

With dock connected,

Open System Profiler,

Go to USB

HT6053_usb_tree_callout_en.png

look for the right usb network entry,

write down:

Product ID (in the ex. image 0x0304)

Vendor ID (in the ex. image 0x05ac)

post them here or look online for a driver, with search keys such as: "0304 05ac osx86" or "0x0304 0x05ac osx" etc.
