Yes, tested with drift correction and without... For some reason it gets worse, and slower... But using the standard output (no soundflower) and modifying the output frequency and things, I've got a very stable audio in both outputs, headphones and speaker, no clicks or anything... Weird stuff...

Cool! For most things this works for me as well (VoodooHDA kext only). Like Spotify and browsing etc. It's only when I use Logic X, Airplay or USB-audio I run into problems. But this solution fixed it for me at least - and maybe someone else can benefit from it as well :)

Please help me...

 

I have surface pro

I am installing in accordance with the guide

when I try to install clover to SSD

I can't install with message "The Installation failed"

and usb hub is not working...

Hi Everyone,

 

 

At the end of this post, you will find the updated FilesPackage V0.3.2 for OSX 10.9.2

The mach_kernel has been patched for 10.9.2.

 

You can still use the install guide from page 1 for the Surface Pro 2 (but of course  :)  use the new files for 10.9.2)

Remove also AppleHDA.kext, if you use the VoodooHDA.

 

If you do a software update from 10.9/10.9.1, you have to boot after the update from a USB-drive and copy the new mach_kernel with the terminal (don't forget to copy the mach_kernel to a seperate folder on the USB-drive)

 

FilesPackage for install 10.9.2 on the Surface Pro 2

 

UPDATE : If you have problems with install, remove the VoodooHDA.kext

Not working anymore. CPU EXCEPTION.

I can boot in single mode, but cannot figure what the problem is...

 

1. Did you update or new install ? Did you startup without caches and injected kexts ?

 

2. Can you startup in Safe-mode ?

 

3. Install this AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext

 

4. Remove all NVIDEA / ATI / GFORCE kext (Graphic Drivers)

 

5. Intel Core i5-4200u or Intel Core i5-4300u

Good news! Booted with my pendrive, removed every kext but FakeSMC & NullEthernet, and 10.9.2 started correctly!

 

Now I'll try to figure which one of these kext are failing...

 

* ACPIBatteryManager.kext --- OK

* GenericUSBXHCI.kext       --- OK

 

{censored}! AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext works too!!

But trying to install VoodooHDA my system crashed!!! So It's the VoodooHDA! 

 

 

Update:

 

Did a few tests, even tested with the latest VoodooHDA 2.8.2d6 I found, but same problem...

Not sure what this is, but well, looks like the rest is working good now... (no audio again!)  :(

I think it's safe to install.

If someone have problems, remove the VoodooHDA. VoodooHDA.kext is unstable on the Surface Pro 2

Weird, do you have same SF2P I have? (Core i5-4200u) ?

Yes, I have the same SFP2 i5-4200u.

I did send you a private message.

I updated the VoodooHDA, I hope it will now works.

 

Tested!!! Works perfect now! Even better than before! Tested with the audio output at 48Khz - 24bit, and works perfectly!!!

I own a surface pro 1, 128gb, Windows Pro 8.1,  and before going about attempting the installation of OS X Mavericks I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to answer a few questions I have:

1. By shrinking the SSD size in windows and creating a new partition, will following this guide and installing OS X on this partition have no effect on my windows install and recovery partition, thus still allowing me to be able to boot into windows 8 when I wish.

2. Is it possible to install OS X on a microSD card instead, not affecting the internal SSD.

3. Is it possible to brick the surface by attempting to install OS X, and if so is it easy to revert?

Interesting fact! Installed Parallels and Windows 8.1, all the surface hardware appear and works good inside the virtual machine; touchscreen, bluetooth, wifi, cameras, etc; no reboot required...   :yes:

it's because wifi & bluetooth are wired via usb! :D

Yeah, they are USB! Although I just figured that the touchscreen and pen stops working after some minutes, trying to figure why, but otherwise it's awesome to se what this relatively small hardware is capable to do with OS X installed in it... (I wasn't able to run a descent virtual machine on Windows install, VirtualBox let me choose 32 bit only, and lots of different hardware things aren't available, Parallels the same, even Hyper-V)...   :)

1.  I could NOT resize my partition on the Surface Pro 1.  It just wouldnt let me. 

2.  Yes, I did this first but it doesnt run very smooth and ultimately I installed it to the SSD.

3.  I have no idea, but its not that difficult and I don't think you can brick it.  Unless you disregard the great guides on here.

Thanks for the great guide from JahStories, I've got Mavericks 10.9.2 installed and almost everything is working fine except wifi/bluetooth, facetime/imessage and some other minor issues.

 

One thing puzzled me is the TextEdit application. When I double-click on a text file or rtf file, the TextEdit won't open (nothing happens), but when I right click the text file, it shows the TextEdit at the top of Open With list with (Default) along side of it. And more puzzled is if I click on the TextEdit (Default) on right click->Open with menu, the TextEdit opens the file fine.

 

I've tried following couple things but no luck so far.

1. clear/remove Preferences and Cache file of Finder under ~/Library

2. clear/remove LaunchServices plist from Prefereneces

3. Change the association of text file to other application (confirmed it works fine) and than switch back to TextEdit.

4. Removed KeyChains folder and restarted.

5. Create another user account and try.

 

I've played with hackintosh from Snow leopard and never faced such a weird problem.

In short, double-clicking a text file (or use "open abc.txt" in command line) won't open TextEdit. I saw some other guys from other forum had the similar issue but without resolution, not sure if anyone have any idea about this?

 

BTW, if any one is picky about the SEVEN commas after "Intel HD Graphics 4000" in About This Mac window, you can adjust the buffer length from 0x1E to 0x17 for the model in graphic injection DSM method in the DSDT. (if you are not sure what I am talking about, just ignore this. :-))

HiDPI, Did anybody found a workaround for this? I am not able to get it working :(

 

Very Easy and works fine. Best buy SwitchResX :

 

 

• sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver DisplayResolutionEnabled -bool YES;

 

• Then download switchresx to enable custom resolution,

 

• from the sresx preference panel add this scaled resolution: 2732x1536

anyone else with the edimax 7811un micro usb wifi dongle have problems with its range?? Im only in the next room and can connect to the router, but it doesnt work on the internet most of the time.  I have a feeling its just as cheap as its price (10$)
