StoneTemplePilots
I do that, but value isn't saved after reboot. Fred Did you even try nvram ROM=%01%02%03%04%05%06 < but that's not your real firewire mac adress, right? However it should exactly look like that %01%02%0304%05, as read at tonymac the two middle values should be skipped! Read twice: (firewire mac address with two middle bytes removed if present, otherwise ethernet mac address) Paste a dump from DPCIManager / Misc section. You can verify the settings with SMBIOS Parser after reboot.
tonydickinson
Hey tonydickinson, I own a P8Z77-V LX and I downgraded from 2204 to 1603 ROM, now I can save the NVRAM settings. I found out where the settings are stored for my board: 000| |CEF5B9A3-476D-497F-9FDC-E98143E0422C|00180048|01FFB8|RAW That's my NVRAM firmware volume ; ) if you wan't to I can try to burn in your settings permanently but it would be a good idea when you send me your smbios.plist settings, so our settings wouldn't overlap ; ) and I know what's your machine settings that should be stored. Btw. ASUS has no nvramsmi module, those seetings must be stored in any other module. Even I'd like to know if you're able to flash a modified bios ??? ; ) then we know if a mod is worth the effort. regardz Hi Felix - I like your handle. Thanks for the offer, that is what I suspected, however my nvram I would expect to contain far more than just smbios (I am a Clover UEFI User) A navram -p shows me this (some security details removed). Fab1Man
I wanted to post my experiences with the F16 modded bios by Xpamamadeus for the UD5H board. The implementation is nice, it feels like a real Mac. However the tweaking abilities are not that great. The boot menu that appears when pressing "Home" is dreadful. No keyboard support, only a flickering mouse. Multiple partitions and the screens is scrambled. I have my own AppleHDA.kext and although it's in the Common folder on the EFI partition, it just won't work. I have to patch the file in S/L/E to get it to work. A problem with the bios is that it's unable to boot from an UEFI USB stick for Windows. In my humble opinion: Ozmosis is a good bootloader for having certain configurations and not be able to get OS X running. However, I feel that Clover gives me more possibilities and is more versatile. The changes in Clover are going very fast, and I honestly hate the config.plist. But, taking some time and making one hell of a configuration in the EFI partition and you have the same way of working.

Fab1Man, for a bootloader which has been built for a specific mainboard only it's very versatile, but only puttin in some efforts to hardmod DSDT, SSDT and so on to make it feel more like a real mac. I guess it's a step in the right direction, let's see. A Clover version which can be used for UEFImods is the future just my oppinion.

The integration in the bios with Clover together would make it perfect. The NVRAM problems is kind of solved. I can see in different guides that Ozmosis is an EFI bootloader, in essention the same as Clover. Therefore, having the cloverx64.efi and trying to integrate this would be the next step. The shell is implemented as well, but I think it's not as easy as adding a module made of Clover?

If you can't mod your NVRAM settings, then here we got another option for the moment: modifying SMBIOS. Use smbcfg for AMI Aptio. Anyway a full bios backup before getting it done is a very good idea. But watch out, it will cause you problably to reactivate some software on windows due to serial change ; )

XLR
NO comment. So it is open source and has nothing to do with Clover then? Sorry for misunderstanding, just couldn't find the source code for some reason. First i searched in this thread - it wasn't here, then i searched under the bed - it wasn't there too, then i took a look in the basement - still nothing...

joe75
the brain fart comes from thinking this has anything to do with clover and theres no source to be found because this boot manager has been stripped from a firmware without any official release to the general public

Riley Freeman
Actually the 801m was NOT stripped from FW, as was the 807 (pre release) in my sig. Does 807 fix loading SSDT from the ACPI folder? I haven't came across any other major issues with 801M so far on my Z68. One cosmetic one is that the bus speed isn't listed in Hardware Overview in System Profiler. It won't work at all on the X79 though. Flashed BIOS won't even post. @thegmanosx: If you have a Asus board use USB Flashback. People can't offer help if they don't know what hardware you have. Best to add your specs to your sig.
