I had posted previously about my ethernet kext not loading. I am using a known working version in the Oz/Darwin/Common/Extensions or whatever it is and it still wasn't loading, so I put it directly in S/L/E and forgot about it. I recently tried putting my default.plist in the Oz folder prior to clearing the PRAM to fix the multiple shell bug. Turns out the default.plist isn't loading either. Anybody have any idea what is going on? Not sure why nothing is loading. I noticed that my windows ssd is now showing up as disk0 and the mac ssd is showing as disk1. the efi partition is on the mac ssd so the efi partition is disk1s1 I believe. Could this be a part of the problem? If so, how do I change which is which.

Sounds like there is EFI folder/partition on the windows disk, copy the OZ from the OSX disk to it, this thing uses the first EFI fat formatted folder/partition it finds in the machine.

Hi,

I had a similar issue with my Radeon 5770

I went for the RadeonFramefuffer using sudo nvram 1F8E0C02-58A9-4E34-AE22-2B63745FA101:AtiFramebuffer=RadeonFramebuffer and I got my 2 monitors up & running

If it does not help, try the others framebuffers

Stef

It works. Thanks a lot.

Okay so it's as I suspected. Any way to change this? My Mac SSD is connected to SATA0 port and Windows SSD is connected to SATA1. I even set up the mac partition first, so not sure why this happened. I can copy this over to the windows efi, but for the sake of cleanliness, is there any way to change these two around to make the mac SSD disk0?

Switch the cables and I think you are reading the labels wrong on the port numbers I had the same problem on my board switched them and even windows managed to find its new home unlike a MBR install which would have been dead. BTW it is not a cleanliness problem that is what the EFI partition is for boot loaders used on the machine for booting various operating systems installing cleanly without the old MBR clobbering foolishness.

I definitely wasn't reading labels wrong but I switched cables and booted. After doing so i ran diskutil list in terminal and showed windows as disk0 still. I switched back to original and now the mac ssd is correctly identified as disk0. Despite this the defaults.plist in the Oz folder is still not loading. It did not load after I switched cables or after I switched them back. Not sure what is going on but Oz is not loading things properly.

I'm at work right now so I can't try anything at the moment, but if that is the issue, what can be done about it? I can't disconnect my Windows drive every time I want to boot into OS X. Would this require a re-installation of Windows or something?

In osx System Preferences -> Startup Disk option select the osx install as the option to use click on restart button when it does so it should use the osx disk for that and all further boots. If not then your nvram is not unlocked of course then now you need the F12 menu to boot windows as it is no longer the default. From the sounds of it you want Clover installed ie. something where you will get a boot menu on startup, Ozmosis is not for that idea it is a bios replacement not a boot manager.

Edit: Now I think about it some more I do believe there is option that can be used in the Defaults.plist that once you get around to copying the OZ folder to both disks so it has no choice but to load it, that gives you boot menu all the time.

I already had previously selected startup disk and it is working properly. It always boots to OS X unless I hold F12 to boot to Windows. I'm not too concerned about that, and I can always install rEFInd if I want boot manager. My issue is that I'd rather fix the issue of Ozmosis not loading things properly, rather than find a workaround. Pavo suggested disconnecting the Windows drive, but even if that fixes the issue, I'm not sure how that helps, unless that is a way of narrowing down possible causes.

That is away to see why your Defaults.plist isn't being loaded, you have to narrow down one issue at a time. You said your biggest concern is your Defaults.plist not getting loaded. The way Oz works is on first boot it creates the Ozmosis folder structure on the first FAT32 formatted drive it sees, so if your OS X HDD was the only drive connected it would have to use the Oz folder structure on that drive, also if you have CSM enabled which means you more than likely have Windows installed as legacy and not as UEFI that could be an issue also, I suggest disconnecting all HHDs except your OS X HDD and narrow down the issue.

Sorry to interrupt the line of questions, but has anyone modified something in their bios and then not be able to boot into windows?

I already had my windows instalation (UEFI)..and if im right I just swapped SMCEmulator and Plugins for FakeSMC + Plugins and since then windows BSOD's "ACPI BIOS ERROR".

If I try to reinstall, get the same BSOD, any clue? Thanks!

I didnt, which is weird, lol. I just replaced the ffs's and thats it. THOUGH, let me look into it.....its worth a shot, I should my older bios somewhere, I will dump the dsdt for both and check. Thanks for the tip Riley! :)

edit: mh, same dsdt, I will flash and check.

edit2: ok, that was it...i reviewed older bioses and found the difference, THOUGH..now i know why i switched dsdt's, this one has non funtional audio, or semi broken at least. Digital is working but line output not. I will check it, thanks

edit3: well, windows work, "internal speakers" dont, but i can use another line out, i will figure it out.

edit4: I figured it out, well more like remember. When I booted to windows and rebooted to mac, I get no audio with internal speakers, dont know why! But oh well...everything working fine now, thanks Riley

For the radeon cards if you see apple logo and then its not started you will have to try different frame buffer names or different controller patching.

@joe75

I now use a OZ boot loader .

Please show me how you look OZ folder.I have a same mobo. and look my Oz folder.

I don't have any file...

Hello. Please help.

I have Gigabyte H87M-d3h motherboard. Everything works great in clover. But I`d like to try Ozmosis.

I followed instructions but... Inserting drivers into bios file shows me an error.

Smth like "error firmware". I dont know how to solve this problem.

Thanks.

Edit. I have opened my eyes and solve problem. But one more question... I can`t insert all drivers into bios. Not enough space. I found some files to delete, but there is still not enough space. Can someone help where to find list of files which i can delete from bios?

EDIT. No... i can`t... Latest result I`ve got: On CPU Graphic I reached Apple logo, and freeze on 50%. On R9290X graphic just black screen. I guess that is because I can`t insert all needed drivers.

Help someone to do that. I attached my bios file.

you shouldn't insert any kext into firmware, you only need EnhancedFat, PartitionDxe, Hfs+, SmcEmulator, Ozmosis. Use the Efi\Oz\Darwin\Extensions\Common folder to put your kext in, the R9 290x works fine with Yosemite, you just have to inject the framebuffer in the Defaults.plist

I have a few issues though.

1. can't seem to get it to boot my "OSX Flash Drive(createinstallmediamethod)

2. can't disable CSM

3. EFI Shell Warning not found! lol, well i know its patched and flashed properly

how do i get this to work properly? do i need to have CSM disabled to boot the OSX drive, or is there away around that? and what settings do i need to have for it to detect it?
