oSxFr33k
Oz is a great idea and one day may be the only way but for me Clover is just packed with many options on the fly and I am discovering more and more everyday. For me having a bootloader sitting outside the Bios is fine. Maybe if Oz had some extension that remains outside to offer a Gui at boot with additional options it would be more for me but for now I think I am happy with Clover. I have so many PCs and Laptops and I am half way through updating them to Yosemite with Clover and its been a cakewalk. With Oz on the GA-Z77X-UP5 TH shutdown sometimes causes a rare reboot and deep sleep/wake is not working, it wakes right away. Its does this with Clover to but I am able to fix it in Clover so that said!! I have a QUo board running Oz and thats good enough for me.

XLR
Does anyone else having trouble using Nvidia Web drivers on 10.8.5 with 1479? On 10.9.X and 10.10.X it works fine, but on 10.8.5 it doesn't switch to web drivers for some reason, and goes back to default driver after reboot... truemac
you need Connector Patch for your ATI Radeon HD 5770, because of this you have no video signal after Wake.
who_s_there
Thanks truesoldier for this but I have really no idea how to do that For clarity my card works perfectly before going to sleep, just black screen after Can you explain ? Thanks EDIT Thanks true soldier, you've pointed me in the perfect direction : I changed the Framebuffer to use to Vervet and it works For the readers who might have the same issue, I did : sudo nvram 1F8E0C02-58A9-4E34-AE22-2B63745FA101:AtiFramebuffer=Vervet All is working nicely now !

HBP
anyone out there get a successful install of 1479 on: Z87X-UD5 TH i7-4770K Corsair Vengeance 1600 (16GB) nVidia GeForce 660 very stable with 894m but unable to get it to even boot past bios screen with 1479. HBP
griven
1479 has known issues with logical volume groups (FusionDrive oder Raid0). If you use a logical volume group in your setup (unfortunately you do) you better stay on 894m and keep your Fusion Drive if this works for you.
truemac
Is there an equivalent of AtiPorts in Ozmosis ? No, use DSDT for this job
who_s_there
No, use DSDT for this job OK, I need to figure out how ... Few questions though : 1/ Do you know how many ports are declared in osmosis 1479 ? 2/ Do you know a good tutorial that explains how to modify dsdt in Ozmosis ? Thanks EDIT : I extracted the DSDT from my bios. I get this : Device (PEGP) { Name (_ADR, 0x00010000) Method (_PRT, 0, NotSerialized) { If (PICM) { Return (AR02 ()) } Return (PR02 ()) } Device (GFX0) { Name (_ADR, Zero) Name (_SUN, One) Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { If (LEqual (Arg2, Zero)) { Return (Buffer (One) { 0x03 }) } Return (Package (0x0A) { "@0,connector-type", Buffer (0x04) { 0x00, 0x08, 0x00, 0x00 }, "@1,connector-type", Buffer (0x04) { 0x00, 0x08, 0x00, 0x00 }, "@2,connector-type", Buffer (0x04) { 0x00, 0x08, 0x00, 0x00 }, "@3,connector-type", Buffer (0x04) { 0x00, 0x08, 0x00, 0x00 }, "hda-gfx", Buffer (0x0A) { "onboard-2" } }) } } My issue is that I have 2 monitors 1 on HDMI, the other one on DVI Here all the connector types are defined as 0x00, 0x08, 0x00, 0x00 which seems to me to be the HDMI connector type in the AMDFramebuffer Should I change one of the connector definition to have HDMI working ? truemac
1/ Do you know how many ports are declared in osmosis 1479 ? Use bdmesg to show how many ports are declared in osmosis. 2/ Do you know a good tutorial that explains how to modify dsdt in Ozmosis ? read this topic here you can find everything for that. I extracted the DSDT from my bios. I get this : Device (PEGP) { Name (_ADR, 0x00010000) Method (_PRT, 0, NotSerialized) { If (PICM) { Return (AR02 ()) } Return (PR02 ()) } Device (GFX0) { Name (_ADR, Zero) Name (_SUN, One) Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { If (LEqual (Arg2, Zero)) { Return (Buffer (One) { 0x03 }) } Return (Package (0x0A) { "@0,connector-type", Buffer (0x04) { 0x00, 0x08, 0x00, 0x00 }, "@1,connector-type", Buffer (0x04) { 0x00, 0x08, 0x00, 0x00 }, "@2,connector-type", Buffer (0x04) { 0x00, 0x08, 0x00, 0x00 }, "@3,connector-type", Buffer (0x04) { 0x00, 0x08, 0x00, 0x00 }, "hda-gfx", Buffer (0x0A) { "onboard-2" } }) } } My issue is that I have 2 monitors 1 on HDMI, the other one on DVI Here all the connector types are defined as 0x00, 0x08, 0x00, 0x00 which seems to me to be the HDMI connector type in the AMDFramebuffer Should I change one of the connector definition to have HDMI working ? here is everything you need http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/249642-editing-custom-personalities-for-ati-radeon-hd45xx/
XLR
1479 has known issues with logical volume groups (FusionDrive oder Raid0). If you use a logical volume group in your setup (unfortunately you do) you better stay on 894m and keep your Fusion Drive if this works for you. From my experience, with 1479 Fusion drive getting destroyed while trying to create a recovery partition, or upgrading the OS for example from Mountain Lion to Mavericks or from Mavericks to Yosemite. When it happens it's getting wrecked up to a point where you can't even pass the BIOS post screen or boot from USB or any other device.

Dual screen OK, QE/CI ok, sleep OK Problem solved. I only have the sadness of not having been able to find the right personality, but I can live with that

thedubiousdubber
This thread is quite large and I'm not sure how relevant earlier posts are seeing as they are over a year old. So I thought I'd just ask. I realize Ozmosis requires a number of changes a lot of which is dependent on what motherboard you are using, but if someone already has Ozmosis up and running on their motherboard (ie z77x-ud5h) what's stopping me from using their configured bios if I have the same board? I would assume a few values would need to be changed as far as mlb/rom/serial, etc. But why isn't there any kind of template given the mass amount of people using the same boards to do the same things? Just curious. I only ask because trying to figure this stuff out isn't easy for someone like myself, especially as informative posts are continually becoming out of date and its hard to consolidate the relevant information for what I'm trying to do. There are plenty of useful guides, but a lot of the good guides I was trying to use, are for Mavericks so the information is a little old. Things change, software gets updated to do things it didn't do before or doesn't do things it did and so the guide is hard to follow.

Their are plenty of useful guides, but as I pointed out in a guide I was trying to use, all the images are gone as the post is a little old, so the guide is incomplete. A BIOS is a BIOS the changes required are the same for any of them using this method namely you need the Ozmosis files integrated into the BIOS for it to function like a Mac when flashed with it. You can take another BIOS you see listed somewhere and use it provided they have not put all kinds of extra junk in it like they are sometimes doing because it seems to be some kind of crime against humanity to use the hidden EFI partition for the extras that can be needed which BTW Apple does when it suits their purpose. Try the link below to see if they have pre-made one for you. http://hackintosh-forum.de/
joe75
It's not clover, there are no special configs or changes needed with ozmosis. As MacUsers points out, the only things needed to be changed are machine specific DSDT/SSDT or any extra kexts added.
HBP
for those who are still having iMessage issues with Ozmosis. use a Hex Editor to implement your ROM Value in the ozmosisDefaults.ffs file. I have 3 legit macs to savage ROM/MLB information from but the ROM hex codes always have/gave me an invalid char like a backspace, or del, or CR. so after some frustration I manually edited the defaults plist with a hex editor to match what I needed it to show the ROM to be. once I booted it up the matching ROM/MLB activated everything just fine.
