[HOW TO] Make Radeon {Desktop or Mobility} be working by using Clover

Trying to make a 4650 mobility run with clover + latest el capitan. I have tried different kexts and configurations, also injecting the custom edid. I think things are different since the original post? Was using the aty init, but tried removing and still get "Gliff. Seems nothing I try changes much. In the IOregistry explorer its always .boot_display under any frame buffer Gliff, Flicker or Shrike. Load video bios indeed produces black screen. There was edited amd4600controller/atiX2000 that were said to work, but went back to originals.

.boot_display is also a sleep preventer for the system.

This older card require older system?

I bought a ASUS R5 230, which I expected to be a rebranded HD6450, but it wasn't!

The GPU is recognised as HD7450, and it's Device ID is 0x677B1002. What should I do people? Any help will be really appreciated.

IGP graphics is not supported because they have different addressing to video memory.

I have my doubts that He can make the discrete card to work. A Mac with switchable cards have a chip GMUX soldered on the main logical board that handle this. PC use ACPI calls, need a new driver for hackintosh, in linux they invented this: https://github.com/ah-/gmux. .. but always meant to be run on real Mac (but this use ACPI calls).

Radeon Mobility

I tested Clover's methods with two users having Mobility Radeon HD5470 and HD5650M. We found that full memory and QE/CI will be achieved if we set in Clover's config

LoadVBios=Yes

even thou no file with bios is provided. This is the key to make Radeon Mobility working!

Other problem is bad gradients or artifacts. For this case Clover accept the key

InjectEDID=Yes

and sometimes you also need to inject CustomEDID.

I don't see LoadVBios = true on your photos.

Take into account that screenshot by pressing F10 is much more clear then photo by mobile phone.

Sorry about the photos and thank you for your response! I made new ones, the LoadVBios=true was highlighted by me there.

So, maybe I wasn't explain myself right, however I edit "config.plist" in efi/efi/clover/, none of the changes apear in bootloader (first image) at next restart. And when I check the box "LoadVBbios" no acceleration is achieved, it just shows the Video Cards name with 4 MB at "About this Mac"
