having me read through an entire guide of things that don't pertain to my issue is easier than you helping me with this exact problem?

You should not be lazy. The guide has very specific text related to updates to the github repo.

I am not having any luck getting AppleHDA to work with my HP Envy.  I even tried Rehabman's newest kext for 10.11.4.  The AppleHDA patcher creates a patched kext which gives me the most entries for Intel High Definition Audio but I get no entries under Devices.  The one thing that seems to be different about my HP Envy is that I have the HP Wireless Audio Adapter, which is a USB audio device.  It's actually a chip (similar to a wifi/BT combo card) that fits in its own slot on the motherboard and has its own antennae.  With the VoodooHDA kext, I get these devices (of which the Digital-out (HDMI)) do not work.

With AppleHDA, it get this:

post-270804-0-76098100-1459134372_thumb.png

Any ideas about why I get no audio devices and, hence, no audio using AppleHDA?

P.S. - The multi-output device is actually an aggregate of multiple devices which work with VoodooHDA (allowing all 6 of my Beats Audio speakers to work).  That device shows up with AppleHDA but there are no actual devices contained within it so it can be ignored.

RehabMan, I added a link to your "hotpatch" guide on the first post. Hopefully, you don't mind. It's a much better method for people to use than what is currently there. Thanks again for all your hard work and for the help you provided. ^_^

Yep thanks again for everyone who has helped to make this as great as possible! :) Don't let other people who don't appreciate it get you down.

That's a shame. Not having HDMI support is a deal breaker for me, especially since I use it so much on my laptops.

So I got HDMI audio support for the VoodooHDA.kext.  It turns out that it required 2 Clover kext patches of AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext.  They can be located here:

https://github.com/toleda/audio_CloverHDMI

I used the config.plist patches for the HD4000.  You would use it for the HD4600 or whatever GPU your new laptop uses.  It was nice to put the analog audio cord in a drawer and have one less cord between my Zotac ID83 and my bedroom TV.

P.S. - Three different HDMI outputs show up for me.  The top one was the one that worked.  Also, I had to go into Audio Midi Setup and change the format to 96000 MHz and 8-channel 16-bit integer.

Does anyone have a working HDA injector for Yosemite / El Capitan? I can't seem to get audio working in 10.10/10.11 no matter what I try and i'm out of ideas. I would appreciate Clover patches too, just for comparison with my own. For reference, I'm using the same injector & patches that come with RehabMan's hotpatch repo but for some reason, they don't seem to be working. Appreciate it guys!

So since about 10 minutes ago my hackintosh build can't boot anymore.

Earlier today, I locked my PC on OS X with control+shift+power and it rebooted into Windows (the default boot option if you don't press F9 on boot)

It happened 20 or so minutes ago again, and I tried to boot back into OS X. It froze during the progress bar boot and turned off. It won't boot. I went into Clover's verbose mode and this is what it shows.

https://goo.gl/photos/BbwQiugoQHiQ46p86

I can't seem to access the OS X recovery partition since the graphics are glitched on it. Windows 10 boots fine though. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Looks like your system volume is corrupt. Boot the OS X installer and repair it in Disk Utility.

Most common cause of corruption is using software in Windows that allows read/write HFS+ volumes.

Yup, that was what I tried to do earlier this week :(

I wasn't able to repair it in disk utility, but I uninstalled the software. Hopefully I'll be able to now.

Edit: damn, I can't. Do I have to redo my whole install?

You may have corrupted your OS X installation.  Wait to see if anyone else has any suggestions but mine is to reinstall OS X over your current installation.  It should keep everything you have intact and just replace your system files and apps that come with OS X.  It shouldn't effect your user files or settings or third-party apps.  However, some or all of those might have also been corrupted.  BTW, what app in Windows did you use to read/write your HFS+ files?  Paragon?

Make sure you follow Rehabman's guide to get all the hot swap SSDT files. Since my clean install, have had no problems with AppleHDA not working.

I tried to get apps like diskwarrior working, to no avail. I couldn't install it over my existing partition so I had to wipe the whole thing and start from scratch. Most of my stuff was backed up, but now I can't seem to work the magic like before and my QE /CI, SSDT and a number of other things aren't working anymore.

And yes, it was a trial version of Paragon HFS+ that I installed earlier this week and completely f***ed my whole OS X install. Couldn't advise against using that POS software more.

Edit: got everything working again

Glad you are up and running again.  I tried Paragon once and had the same result as you.  I can't find a copy of MacDrive (let's just leave it at that.) Therefore, I use Bootcamp's HFS+ driver for Windows.  It's available for download (and I don't think that posting the link violates any rules here):

http://lpmv.epfl.ch/page-109141-en.html

Be advised that it is a read-only driver but, in my opinion, that is for the best.  If you are tinkering with OS X from Windows, you are asking for trouble.

Thanks for posting this! I'll need some time to sort through my own stuff to cross-reference but I can already tell you that my KextsToPatch section is different than yours for some reason. Strangely, both Mountain Lion & Mavericks HDAs work using what I have, just not Yosemite or El Capitan.

Could you clarify what you mean by "hot swap SSDT files"? Are you just referring to the one SSDT-HACK.aml or something entirely different? Thanks again! :)

Yep just referring to the SSDT-HACK.aml file and the SSDT.aml that you get from Piker-Alpha script for power management. I know when my sound wasn't working, my OSX installation was corrupt. I couldn't even run Rehabman's patch_hda.sh when I was going through his guide for installing the kexts and generating the SSDT-HACK.aml.

Does anyone have the bug where sound randomly stops working with AppleHDA, or when Bluetooth doesn't start back up after sleep? I have a bluetooth mouse and having to reboot OS X to get my mouse working after sleep (only sometimes!) gets pretty tiresome.

Also, occasionally hitting Control + Shift + Power causes the PC to reboot instead of locking and turning off the display as it should.

Yeah...didn't work after all. I tried the patches you sent (thank you again btw) but the machine still is without audio.

Going over ideas in my head I thought for a moment that it might be because I never used the patch_hda script but last I knew that script was mostly just applying bin-patches to the executable itself, which is something we can easily do now using Clover patching so unless it does something more that i'm unaware of, that can't be it. If someone feels generous enough to send me their SSDT-HACK,aml, i'd like to compare with my own, though I can't really see a reason why that would actually help. I'm also curious to know how people choose to install their working kexts with Yosemite+. Is it preferred to install them in the Clover kexts folder and/or the usual /S/L/E and/or the /L/E folders? For the record, with the patches you sent me, I tested my injector and rebuilt caches using all three folders before replying.

I'm pretty much at my limit with this problem since I have been dealing with it for so long now. I have 3 different (all still haswell) machines with this exact same problem and all of them work perfectly, audio and all using Mavericks and below. I very highly doubt corruption is the issue here since all of them suffer from the same broken audio-only problem and it is only with Yosemite and above. Thanks for the assist and as always, apologizes for my impossibly late replies. -_-

If you follow the guide as written, audio will work.

If not working, read post #1, "Problem Reporting".

patch_hda.sh does not apply any patches to the binary. It is simply building the injector kext. Patching the binary is done with Clover and config.plist.

Here the audio work really well just using your kext (same exactly codec branded by HP, same chassy..same Beats speakers). In 10.11.4+ just need a face-lifting:IDT92HD91BXXInject.kext.zip

(do not use in older OS versions)

Ensure you already have that in your config:config.plist.zip... (I don't need any other fix)
