Anyone got any PCI-e BCM4360 WiFi-ac card going? (New Macbook Air owner wanted)

Since Apple's launched the new Macbook Air mid 2013, we finally got a wifi-ac option. People have confirmed that the WiFi part of the chipset is bcm4360, so I wonder anyone have tried any PCI-e cards out there using the same chipset?

 

I checked the latest 10.8.4 from app store, and the driver isn't there yet, I also looked at 10.9 DP1, though there is a AirPortBrcm4360.kext, but it required many dependencies that don't exist in 10.8.4.

 

I already have an ac card runs 4360 chipset (ven: 14e4 dev: 43a0 rev.3), and I want to experiment whether it would work on a hackintosh with a proper driver.

 

So I am looking for new Macbook Air owner who would kindly help by sending out their IONetworkingFamily.kext and IO80211Family.kext

Try updating the system to developer version 10.8.5 build 12F9.

It contains the driver AirPortBrcm4360.kext

Ohh I see, there are other cards with Wi-Fi Bluetooth combo , but those are based on Broadcom 4352 chipset, pci id 14e4 43b1, the 4360 kext does´t had this id inside, but it worth to try injecting in dsdt or directly in kext to see if this new driver support all the new Broadcom 802.11ac Family or just the new 4360 chipset.

 

I´m really interested in this because I need a new Wi-fi Bluetooth combo card in mini half sized form for my Asus G74 Laptop, I hope some one with ASUS G75VX or the new Alienware (which has this 4352 Chipset inside) try it out and let us know.

Thanks, but I have the ethernet port recognised as built-in, so the wifi card recognised as third party is fine for me.

I have the same wifi card as pictured above. I have installed the latest 10.8.5 beta, the card shows up and works, but the file transfer speed is abysmal. I have followed all the above instructions,

I need help.  I have the Asus PCE-AC66 and when I first installed into my hackintosh x79 system, it was reported as Card Type: Third-Party Wireless Card.  I did the fix above hoping it would fix the limited channels supported which is only from channel 1 to 11, but it did not.  I still only get channels 1-11 as seen from the terminal comand.

Hi all, I'm using the pce-ac66 card like others in this thread, and was hoping for a more stable experience with 10.9 GM kexts...

 

However, my connection constantly keeps dropping out just like it did with 10.8.5, and I'm unsure of what to do. Here's my terminal report (i did the kext mod that was posted here). 

 

Has anyone had success with this card? Is the pce-ac68 any different?

hi guys. i want to tell you my experience.

first of all sorry for my english.

i bought the bmc94360cd (the new imac 2013 one) with an adaptor from taobao.

i put it on my original mac pro 5,1 mid 2012. it doesn't work.

so i put the card with the mini pci-express adaptor directly in my mac pro wi-fi card slot (without the pci express adaptor). what happened?my mac pro recognized the wireless ac card but it didn't recognize the bluetooth card.

so, i did another experiment. i put my bcm94360cs2 card from my macbook air 2013 into the adaptor of the mac pro. same result. it recognizes the wi-fi ac but it doesn't recognize the bluetooth card.

someone can help me please?

 

edit:

after some test i realized that the card itself it's working. what is not working is the pci express adaptors. the strange thing is: why is wi-fi working and the bluetooth is not working trough the mini pci express?

The custom appel header does pci-e + usb signals, so it won't ever do the bluetooth part.

I know this card very well and in fact I've had it for over 2 months now, and you can get it to work by using the external header and put that back in your backpanel of the pro.

The bluetooth part really is worth it though, with antenna the range and responsiveness is far better than the stock bluetooth from your mac pro (using a Mac Pro4,1 myself).

The price is a bit steep (mine came at 110 euro ~ 140 USD), I'd rather have a mini pci-e card for my hack next.

Also bluetooth 4.0 is pretty easy to get working today with several usb bluetooth sticks from ebay, as low as 4 USD including wake from sleep support.

That said it's probably not worth your trouble, I know I'll be selling mine at some point.

hi. thank you for your answer.

as you suggest, i put the card on a pci express slot and i connect even the usb cable.

doing that the bluetooth part started working! but the wi-fi card doesn't work. the only way to make the wi-fi card working is to put it on the mini pci express (but loosing the bluetoth part). so what is the matter?

i tried moving the switch but nothing happens. please help me

Make sure not to have any wifi card in the mini pci-e slot of the mac pro itself to avoid airport conflicts.

you did what i was thinking. but the issue is that my wifi card is not recognized if i use the pci express slot. 2 questions:

1-the wifi switch on the pci express card is set on number 1 or on number 3?

2-what about the blue and the green cable?must i disconnect them? look at the photo

edit: on the backside only the green light is on, while the red one is off. is it correct?

The blue+ green connector are just for the data:

In effect your usb chipset gets no power now.

 

 

I connected my cable on the connector on the bottom right (not supplied with card).

The switch is in the 2-3 position off (for standard 5 volts like usb needs)
