elsewiht
What did you select in System Preferences/Sound/Output? Line out. But then i tried all of the other ones as well.
toleda
Line out. But then i tried all of the other ones as well. See ML-Realtek ALC AppleHDA Screenshots in toleda/audio_ALCInjection. It matters what audio device is selected and what connector the speakers are plugged into. For example, Internal Speakers is the motherboard green port. elsewiht
I also noticed that when i play a song on iTunes, the pause button appears but the track seeker doesn't move at all. Don't know if this helps.
toleda
10.8.4 Im confused, this is a Mavericks thread, your IOReg says you have a 10.8.5 kernel installed and you run 10.8.4 OS X. Audio may never work on that configuration; suggest 10.8.5F23 or newer.

Your thread (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/290797-mountain-lion-realtek-alc-applehda-audio/) says the supported OS releases are 10.8 - 10.8.4. So i thought since i am running 10.8.4, patching the audio kext should work. Unless the kernel is causing the problem?
Lacedaemon
Can any genius do one for the VIA VT2021 codec? I seem to be stuck at Platforms.xml and bin patching: VT2021.zip Thanks so much! The first 2 10.8.5 betas did not work (no sound) with the 10.8.4 AppleHDA.kext; 10.8.5 F23 and newer works (sound) with the 10.8.4 AppleHDA.kext. I have no idea why it didn't work or why it is working now.
tuanpekoe
Replace AD1984 to ALC662, and ALC884 to zero 8419d411 > 6206ec10 8408ec10 > 00000000 I confirm it work well I patched my AppleHDA with (Used app HexFiend): 84 08 ec 10 replace 00 00 00 00 84 19 d4 11 replace 69 02 EC 10 My system: - Sound card : ALC269VB ( Nodes : 12 14 18 21) - OS X : Mavericks 10.9 DP5 - AppleHDA.kext build 2.5.2 - I'm using Clover. I have to config file Config.plist with NoCaches = Yes Note: 69 02 EC 10 is my Vendor ID, your sound card may be different. If you use NoCaches = No, AppleHDA.kext will be not load ! Rampage Dev
Sorry I'll try every update on your site, Your appleHDA patch never work on my gigabyte mobo. I was referring to the old DMG and DSDT's for Pre 10.9. That works fine in 10.9 but the DSDT's have sleep issues unlike the ones on the 10.9 DMG. The latest one on the 10.9 DMG is working on non x79 GB boards. Not sure... post a IOreg and install the one from the DMG I posted last night before you post it. Thanks. quis
Anyone with ALC888? I've tried dozens of solutions posted by people since Snow Leopard, the only one that worked I couldn't recall where I got it, but it's a really old version, and gives out electric buzzes (don't know what you call it, but annoying as hell) in Mavericks from time to time. Stuck with Voodoo, which barely works, for now... EDIT: Tried this... Replace AD1984 to ALC662, and ALC884 to zero 8419d411 > 6206ec108408ec10 > 00000000 In addition to binary patch AppleHDA (8419d411 > 8808ec10), I just turn on the HDEF bit in Clover and HDAInject 888. Still no luck (grey icon in the menubar "no output device," and lots of sound assertion of course). Am I missing something?

Eloi Bermejo
Hello! Thanks again for all the precious info!Do you know the codec/string I should replace to enable ALC268? Thanks! EDIT.: I received the info that ALC268 is one of the native AppleHDA codecs, so no replace is necessary. I need to confirm it.
