Dr. Evil
I've been looking for a while but haven't had much success in finding a terminal application for OS X in which the command+left and command+right bring you to start and end of line (home and end keys would be fine too of course). It would be an added bonus if option+left/right jumped one word at a time like most apps. Apple's terminal doesn't support this and neither does iTerm. This would be quite useful feature since I often edit commands right before hitting enter and moving thru them one char at a time is slow for long commands. If anyone knows of such a terminal app or secret hotkey in apple's terminal please shout! Thanks.
lord_muad_dib
i guess it's something about the keyboard layer not the terminal itself
Dr. Evil
good point. when you go to 'Window Settings' in 'Terminal' menu and select 'Keyboard' there are a list of mappings allowing you to configure your own. Anyone have any idea how i could configure custom home/end keys? edit -> shift + home/end works! if anyone figures out how to jump one word at a time let me know! ps: thanks lord_muad_dib for pointing me in the right direction, i noticed this in key mappings page.
