namio
Is it possible to clone the drive with an existing install of OSX and put on to a totally different machine? For example, could I clone my HP pro book install and run it on a gigabyte desktop? I am thinking of doing a new build but want to avoid installing all the additional software beyond the OS I am talking about 10.75 specifically but am curious to know if its possible with any OSX install? I assume at the very least you would have to replace the extra folder along with any dsdts for the specific machine you are moving the cloned drive to, but are there any other steps that have to be done? iFIRE
Use this app C.C.C. Carbom copy clone and clone your disk, then replace Extra folder, install boot loader in the clone, put in your machine and look if work or not, with a clean install this work. Rampage Dev
Or do it the proper Apple way and boot into the USB installer and restore the drive to a empty drive.
