Rogiervd
I don't really know what you mean... I think 32 bit or 64 bit. To find out which version you need to right click Computer and click Properties and you see 64 bits or 32 bit or aren't you running windows
Ckane
I haven't installed it yet but I did partition the drive I just want to know 32 or 64 bit because when I do install windows 7 I don't want to have to do the upgrade again http://ca.asus.com/en/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z77M_PRO/#download I am going to choose the Windows 7 64 bit just to play it safe unless you think otherwise
Rogiervd
Go 64 bit windows 7. The 32 bit version will only identify 4gb of your 16gb of ram. The 64 bit will see the whole 16GB
Ckane
ok thanks now how would I do this upgrade

Gringo Vermelho
1708 is not the latest BIOS for that board, and don't follow the instructions on the ASUS forum, it's an outdated post from 2007. Don't you have the manual for your motherboard? Look: http://event.asus.co..._Features.htm#c Rule number one: know your hardware. Get the modified 1805 BIOS from here: http://biosrepo.word...s.com/asus/z77/
Rogiervd
Ok but I really don't understand that link I'm sorry So you have the file on a usb formatted as FAT32 or FAT. you plug it in and reboot your computer, go into bios and first press F5 to load default settings. Restart again and go into bios press F3 and select easy flash. Wait 20sec and the usb should appear now select the .cap file and it will flash the bios, don't touch the computer or if it's taking long don't power off! When done unplug usb and restart. in bios. Then you need to reset the chipset with C.P.R (have to search around in the bios on that one). load defaults again with F5 and set AHCI and others settings that you need back, EDIT: Use the way of Gringo Vermelho much more easy.
