How do I get started?

Hi PunkNugget,

 

Perhaps a sub section on this would be an idea. I see all these beautiful mods, and all i can think about is, " I want this!"

 

Now, i have 2 left hands, i do not even know where to start. Of course i can disassemble my laptop, but where would i go from there? What tools do i use?

Like my back cover, i would draw an apple on it, get a hammer and screwdriver, and punch the apple out, it will never look nice. I could use some tips on that, just an idea

 

Good thing posting this, it get's war to less attention in my opinion.

Well, if you're looking for an idea why not start here:

 

 

if you're not satisfied with this vid, then you can just go into the Search Bar and type out "How to build a Hackintosh" - pretty simple. Then ask tons of questions (like I did). This last system that I built and posted here on InsanelyMac (Lemon Lime Twist), was my 3rd PC build EVER. I had NO PRIOR experience - NONE. I just Googled a bunch of stuff and watched a LOT OF VIDS. Even if you type out "How to build a PC" on YouTube is just as good. Just make sure you find the one that suits you best, talk to others and let them know what your budget is. If you want a decent system it needs to be at least $1,000 - $1,500 no less than that.

 

Weather new or seasoned builders, most of us here are builders of PCs. But remember, putting a PC system together is going to really lean on YOU doing the homework. If this is not your talent or you just can't figure out how to put PCs together, that's fine, have someone else do it. No shame in that, and then post it. I hope what I shared helps...

I hate you

I know how to build a PC, it's just, i do not know, how to modify the case. (Cut something out, with some kind of tool etc)

My previous post was kind of barbaric, but i would actually do that. I do not have the knowledge on how to cut something out of my rig and replace it with, let's say a piece of plastic.

 

I would like some teaching in this. I'm bad at explaining, but i hope you know what i mean. (Keep it low budget please).

Forgive me, when you said "... I have 2 left hands, I do not know even where to start." I literally took that as just that. I never meant to offend you. Again, I was just trying to help. Now that you're more clear on the subject, I really don't know what to tell you when it comes to modding cases. That part, well is really hard for me to explain. I would go the route of seeking input on YouTube (visuals are always best) and going to Lowe's or Home Depot (like I did) and picking up a Dremel 4000 Kit (like I did). It's actually $20 cheaper online than in a retail store. I use it for almost everything. I then went to the hardware store and picked up these extras:

Then I just carefully planned my cutting, by measuring everything out by templating right over things like the radiators or other things that I needed to cut out and then just did it. You should watch vids like this to really get a grasp of what you'll be getting into when taking on a project of this nature. I believe that you can totally do this. In fact this was the vid was the one that totally got me going:

There are other vids from MNPCTECH.com that will show you how they did it. One of the biggest things that I got out of this particular vid is that Dremeling is like an artform, you have to be very steady and gentle as you apply small amounts of pressure on any metal surface that you're cutting.
