Some nice Audiopr0n being posted in this thread ;)

Sorry about the Pic quality, they're a little old now... I'm also a firm believer that it doesn't matter what you got if you don't use it well or your ears ain't so great.. especially these days where an amazing track can be created with a single computer, personally I'm looking to scale down.. just one very fat computer, a great interface, quality monitors, a couple of 23" cinema displays and a nice audio interface would help the workflow I reckon, too much kit/multi-computers can just get in the way.

Logic 8 - 1x iAtkos, q6600@2.4 (new so not tried clocking yet), Abit IP35, 4GB Corsair XMS2 800mhz, 1TB HDD space, MOTU 2408mkIII, Emagic MT4

Gigastudio - 1x XP, P4e 3.2, Asus P4P800, 2GB Corsair XMS2 800mhz, approx 1.5 TB HDD space, RME Digiface + Cardbus, MOTU Midi Express XT

Korg OASYS PCI/Various Samplers - 1x WinME(!!), P4e 3.2, Asus P4P800, 1GB Corsair XMS2 800mhz, approx 1 TB HDD space, Korg OASYS PCI, Midi lead on Gameport

1 x Thinkpad T21 (for Internet)

1x17" Neovo TFT, 2 x Dell 15" TFT

Tascam DM24 Digital Mixer + additional ADAT card

Absolute2 Monitors/Alesis RA500 amp (meaning to upgrade for a loooong time)

TL-Audio Ivory 5021 Valve Compressor

Aphex104 Aural Exciter

Novation Supernova 2 Keyboard

Contour Shuttle Pro2 controller

Tanglewood TMO-7NC Guitar

Fender Katana Bass (:P looks hilarious, sounds wicked)

Really {censored} no name Mic

oops.. nearly forgot the atom conga's and zidijan tambourine :D

Any one with the Jerker desk from Ikea knows where I can get the optional platform that connect on the sides? To place the monitors. I live in Spain and Ikea discontinued the Jerker.

-Thanks

damn

that ikea desk is one popular studio desk - I know of a couple of UK producers, one of whom's is a member of the hackintosh clan, that have the exact same desk

however i made the same mistake as you - I didn't buy those "wings" when I got the desk (not enough room at my old place) - You can see in my pic that i'm using some rather flimsy home theatre stands for my monitors (not the best) -but from memory those ears probably wouldn't hold monitors the size of yours very well

hey fabriciom! whats that holding ya keyboard up like that???

See the light brownish things under it? I got that in package where my chair came in. Its not the best solution but it gets the job done. They are right under the bottom legs of the keyboard and I did the same for the top legs. but against the table that holds the monitors. I was going to replace them with metal ones but I haven't gotten around to it. Its not the best solution to do what I did because the legs of the controller are a bit round and Its not holding very stiff. But since I play (push against it) there is no problem. Very confi and I can use my PC keyboard.

-Cheers,

Fabricio

Hi

It´s a professional keyboard.

The keys are very sensitive and the knobs & Sliders work very fine.

The problem is the usb conection. The usb driver don´t work fine (I fight one year)

The best solution is a midi interface or if your soundcard have midi.

My RME HDSP9632 have a state of art midi interface and no have troubles with my UF6

:( recording on windows only for now

rig:

Pentium D 940

MSI Neo-F

3GB DDR2 667

Mighty Mouse

wireless keyboard - same as fabriciom has!

M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 [recording live right now at 96]

RCA splitter going to inputs/going to speakers

17" HP LCD

Skullcandy Ti headphones

Thinkpad T22 [been rebuilt at least once]

typically i run everything through my reciever which doubles as a mixer, any source that is playing goes out through TV, so selected or not, i can mix different sources as long as they're monitored. for guitar, since i don't have the MIDI plug for my card, i just go mono and then i create joint stereo by duplicating a mono feed.

in about a month i'll be getting a pair of M-Audio Pulsar II's and a small mixer to start with. i don't usually make music from a synth library, i generally record for other people, works better for me.

my range of inputs go from a turntable to my gameboy for certain sounds. i also depend on my laptop for Synthesizers in linux. just got Audition 3 as well, so count me in on 5000 royalty free 32bit audio loops to play with!

off to install them all!

Is it possible to see/hear you work? ...this looks like you were watching nice sport car in the garage! ;-)

Have you got something you'd like us all to hear Glemt9 ? Why don't you start the ball rolling in another thread?

hi xpertvision.

Thank you for your comments.

All the tracks @ myspace were written during 2004-2006. I've been reading a lot about and experimenting with mixing & mastering. In fact most of the tracks are testbeds.

I work as IT Support and Dept Management & Collection Officer for a major Financial Institute. I prefer the IT section but the 2nd role was part of the deal.

Mixing, Reconstruction/RMXing and Mastering has been a hobby in the past (for my own projects) but now I do it for the extra cash.

I just wish I had the time to apply my current skills at mixing/mastering on the tracks I produced in the past. It's such a hassle to transfer them to Apple/Logic/Cubase.

The accumulated gear is a result of hard savings and being manic/insane/passionate with music technology.

Best regards,

Ceb.
