telasdad
Im trying to update from 10.7.3 to 10.7.5 but im getting kernel panics out the wazoo, im wondering if someone has a "pack of drivers/etc" that will work? because when i do get it to install (on a external) my internal drive will not show up and the bootup time is insanely long (and thats in safe mode) anyone that got this system working that can help would greatly be appreciated. telasdad
when i posted this i was hoping for drivers for my pc that works (i have learned that there are several "packs" available that dont work on every version of the 1525), i started over and i was expecting the error. I will update in a few, i dunno whats going to happen... thanx for the rapid reply...

Slice
Hi, I have perfectly working Dell Inspiron 1525 but I am using 10.6.8 because it is enough for me and no time to upgrade. The bootloader is Clover and Clover was tuned to be perfect namely for 1525. Some rules: 1. Model must be MacBook4,1. It is not MacBookPro5,2! Sleep/Wake, restart, shutdown depend on IOPlatform.plist that I manually tuned. 2. X3100 graphics 32bit only. I know there was a driver from 10.6.2 that works in 64bit. But those driver is quirky. Don't use it! Use IA32. 3. The framebuffer driver depends on SMC keys RPlt and EPCI. If these keys set wrongly you will have KP. My advice: use FakeSMC 3.3.1 with my settings. 4. There are two models of Inspiron 1525: with 1280x800 matrix and 1440x900 matrix (in my case). Second case AAPL,DualLink=1, not sure about first case. 5. All functionality depends on DSDT. Clover is very good tuned to make you good DSDT. See my report and you find here all my tunings. DarwinDumper_2.6.5_Clover_IA32_1147_1149_SL_root.zip Additionally I can say that I used some patched or third-party kexts: 16 4 0x2e840000 0x7000 0x6000 org.netkas.FakeSMC (3.3.1) <13 7 5 4 3> 17 0 0x2e7c4000 0x3000 0x2000 org.slice.PC8739x (1) <16 7 5 4 3> 19 0 0x2e9d4000 0x3000 0x2000 org.slice.HWInfo (1) <16 7 4 3> 20 0 0x2ea27000 0x5000 0x4000 org.slice.IntelCPUMonitor (1.1) <16 7 5 4 3> 30 0 0x2eb24000 0x3000 0x2000 com.yourcompany.driver.AppleACPIPS2Nub (1.0.0d1) <13 7 5 4 3 1> 48 0 0x34975000 0x4000 0x3000 org.voodoo.VoodooSDHC (1.1.2b1) <21 14 5 4 3 1> 56 0 0x34983000 0x4000 0x3000 org.voodoo.driver.PS2Keyboard (1.1.2) <33 5 4 3> 66 0 0x34cc5000 0x3000 0x2000 org.slice.sensor.X3100 (1.0) <16 14 4 3> 80 0 0x2e629000 0x8000 0x7000 org.voodoo.driver.PS2Trackpad (1.1.2) <33 5 4 3> 85 0 0x34f6e000 0x1e000 0x1d000 org.voodoo.driver.VoodooHDA (2.8.2) <84 14 7 5 4 3>
