Maybe the solution for overheating stays in AppleGraphicsPowerManagement. In some ways, our card stays always at full load (and maybe staying at full load the card produces the weird sound). I think so because my GTX 580 without AGPM stays after a benchmark on 51°C and remains so even when I don't do anything.

Have you tried editing AGPM.kext? Have you disabled the nVidia GPU? Can you even use the nVidia GPU?

Hey,

Has anyone tried this on a Dell E4310?

I have tried all the Kexts supplied and i cannot get the Dell to display any graphics.

If i remove all the AppleIntelHD Kexts Mac will boot up without QE/CI or Resolution changes.

If i use AppleIntelHDGraphics i get distorted internal LCD,

However any comination of the FrameBuffers just result in a Blank Backlit LCD.

I am running on 10.8.3 does anyone have any suggestions or any other Framebuffers to try?

Regards

Jamie

Is your computer using the LVDS connection? If its using eDP, then its not compatible for Quartz Extreme at the moment.

Is this kext for intel hd 2000 in sandybridge CPU B950 Dev ID 0x0106 too?!

Sorry friend, this guide and kexts were made specifically for 2010 1st Generation Intel Core i Processors (Arrandale CPUs). You have a 2011 2nd Generation Intel Core i Processor.

Hi, thank you for your guide.

The machine is an Asus UL20FT. I have confirmed that the connection is SingleLink LVDS width 1 (very standard).

Without the kexts I get native resolution by booting from Clover.

I use Natit.kext because OSX won't load the extensions by itself. Using the Single Link LCD Alternate framebuffer from OP, I get a garbled/distorted unusable screen. I can log in, move the mouse, etc. Here's a picture:

oYfAXWv.jpg

I got an EDID dump from Linux and tried injecting it through Clover, but it does nothing. I tried patching the framebuffer myslef and tried all possible output configurations. Only Single Link LVDS gives any display.

On the top of that, I cannot enable CI when not using the framebuffer. I have no idea what I am doing wrong.

Any help appreciated.

Boot OS X using Chameleon Bootloader. I have a feeling that should do the trick.

Don't you have a USB installer for OS X? Just use it to boot into your OS X partition and fix your theme.

Like I say, after changing theme i have try to restart, but its crashed on start before i can choose os. I take empire efi cd and boot in that menu bar and trying to boot in osx but crashed, with -v -f -x... Then i boot to win7 and set with easyBCD win7 as default os with osx as second, after restart i try again to boot in osx and see now chameleon 2.0 bootloader, first time before i change theme was another one, i think chimera, yet with this chameleon crashed again, i dont know why?! Sorry for my english and so much information but im new in hackintosh family and i dont know what of this infos is important to see my problem...

Has anybody played around with the os-info code? And it seems that other users like HD3000 and HD4000 use a platform id and inside their framebuffer shows all of the connector info. The problem is where is all of this connector code in our framebuffer?

I thought moderators of this topic would be interested in this console message:

btw, graphics glitches in games freak me out... can't play flat-out 2... less than 1 FPS in a race (LVDS single link)

Hi,

Successfully enable QE/CI on my laptop asus N71JV with iatkos ML3U with UEFI Boot enable in BIOS.

Install all kext of intel Graphic HD QE/CI 10.8.3 and Natit.kext.

For me it's the alternate framebuffer who works.

On iatkos ML2 doesn't work !!

Sorry for my english !

try using LVDS+VGA single channel Framebuffer. that solved my issue which was identical.

have anybody tried to run such games as WoW or FlatOut 2? I'm getting annoying glitches that cause <5 fps :( even chess are laggy... e.g., on my previous real white mb with intel gma X3100 (144mb) games I've mentioned run good... what's the problem with this gma? :(

Hi all,

I am trying to install ML on old Dell xps 15 (l501x). Everything is working except the graphics.

The laptop has two cards. One is Intel HD 3000 and Nvidia 420M. I am trying to enable QE/CI. However, I am unable to find the correct framebuffer kext. The following is the info I got from the intel_reg_dumper,

rahul@rahul-XPS-L501X~ $ sudo intel_reg_dumper|grep FDI_RXA_CTL

FDI_RXA_CTL: 0xb00a2050 (enable, train pattern not train, port width X2, 6bpc,link_reverse_strap_overwrite no, dmi_link_reverse no, FDI PLL enable,FS ecc disable, FE ecc disable, FS err report disable, FE err report disable, scrambing enable, enhanced framing enable, PCDClk)

rahul@rahul-XPS-L501X~ $ sudo intel_reg_dumper|grep PCH_LVDS

PCH_LVDS: 0x8020033e (enabled, pipe A, 18 bit, 2 channels)

So, I am trying to patch the AppleIntelHDGraphicsFB using hdgraphics_patcher. I tried, hdgraphics_patcher -d -w 2 -p LVDS AppleIntelHDGraphicsFB

However this is not working.

Can someone please help me?

Thanks,

Rahul.

You have a 3rd Generation Intel Core i processor (Ivy Bridge). These kext don't work for your computer.

No Ghostraider. Its an old processor. I am sure its a first generation one. This is my processor.

I'm guessing this is your laptop?

You said somewhere that you had Intel HD Graphics 3000. Mistake? Looking at the specs you do have an Arrandale processor so it qualifies.

What is your native resolution?

What framebuffers have you tried? SingleLink/LVDS/Alternate 1/2?

That is the exact model. And it has integrated GPU Intel HD Graphics 3000.

My native resolution is 1920x1080. So, I have to take dual link FB kexts. I tried with DualLink, duallink Alternate1 and 2. With DualLink, I was not able to boot. The system did not load the HD graphics kext. With Alternate 1&2, the system booted properly but the screen was the same as in post #182.

I tried with single link with no luck. None of the kexts could help boot the system up.

You have Intel HD Graphics (Arrandale), not Intel HD Graphics 3000 (Ivy Bridge). So what do you see in the display? Black? white background? spinning wheel spinning forever or frozen?

I think you are right about the Graphics Card.

When I boot the OS, the Spinning wheel is frozen after a while. And below is the snapshot while I boot it in Verbose mode.

I'm not sure if this will work but maybe boot in 1280x720 by adding it in org.Chameleon.boot.plist. And use SingleLink. Also try to delete the NVidia kexts too since they're useless.

I tried but it is still the same problem. I think it is some problem with the AppleIntelHDGraphicsFB.kext

I took one of the successful framebuffer kexts in this same thread and the OS booted up properly. I got the 1920x1080 resolution, but however, the screen was all messed up. It was all watery, grainy looking...

I remember there was someone here that used the DualLink framebuffer and got QE/CI successfully. Unless there is something that's missing.
