I think we're good now. Thanks to both crusher and IronMan for their help. Now if I could just get AirPlay to work I'd have a perfectly running install. I think that's due to the fact that display boot options are set to legacy only. If I change that I don't get any video out of my video card and have to take it out and plug into the onboard HDMI to get picture where, ironically, AirPlay shows up in the menubar. It used to work on my graphics card when I had a single display hooked up to the mini display port but doesn't seem like my dvi ports.

Thanks crusher. I'm already on the xmas bios but screw it I'll reflash it. Questions about your plist though. It's got kext-dev-mode=1 which I thought was deprecated and darkwake=0 which I have no idea about. Some other stuff like AndroidDiskOptionTemplate and LinuxDiskOptionTemplate which I'm assuming are something you use for some dual booting or whatnot. Also, the BaseboardSerial doesn't have the +5 digits which I know used to be mandatory for things like iMessage but maybe it's unnecessary these days. Just curious if I need to edit anything or if I should throw it in there as-is.

Googled darkwake no need to explain.

Well I flashed the bios and after a lot of boot loops and a manual reset I got in. It reset my graphics driver to OSX default again which explains that. Maybe I was still on the 1669 version after all. The good news is that it was reading the plist IronMan gave me because About This Mac displayed iMac13,2. The bad news is I got a KP a few seconds later and it restarted. Progress, though. Hopefully after I get back on the web drivers it'll settle down.

darkwake is for fast wake from sleep mode.

Ask moderators. Maybe put where their place...

Oh, well, anyway, you remember that I lost bluetooth and USB 3 when I use your moded ROM, well the same happened when I injected the NVRAM with the iMac 13,2 specs, so i installed a new El Capitan in another HDD and flashed with your model ROM, same thing happened, I did that to be sure nothing in my settings wasn't interfering. I'm baffled, I use one of the Apple modules, but, apparently it isn't compatible with iMac 13,2? :(

Hello to all,

This is a post to publicly thank IronManJFF for his help restoring my QUO back to life.

It's a pity with the Forum DB crashed. All the public posts, IM and even my registration were lost (I had to subscribe again and pass the test again)

After installing Crusher. XMASS modified BIOS my QUO mother board was bricked, and Ironman patienly help me during three days to have the system back to work.

I'm still unable to run the 32 GB of RAM, as the with the 4x 8GB Dimm the board is not booting again.

But al least with 16GB I still can use the computer for not heavy work.

Sincère merci beaucoup!!

Follow command:

Examples:
// This will ignore memory SPD data and use instead original Type 17 SMBios tables
// From OS terminal:
  sudo nvram 1F8E0C02-58A9-4E34-AE22-2B63745FA101:SkipSmbusSpdScan=%01
// From HermitShell:
  setvar -guid 1F8E0C02-58A9-4E34-AE22-2B63745FA101 SkipSmbusSpdScan =01
// Using Defaults.plist:
  <key>Defaults:1F8E0C02-58A9-4E34-AE22-2B63745FA101</key>
  <dict>
    <key>SkipSmbusSpdScan</key>
    <true/>
  </dict>

We lost your signature too :)

Trying to remember if all your DIMM were identical ...

Thanks to you!

Yes, all four DIMM are indentical, bougth all together and from the same batch.

SKhynix and fully compatible with the current MacPro series

They were working perfectly before the "mess"

Will restore the signature also! :)

I don't have a QUO board, but oh well I have a gigabyte

I gave up installing with the vanila methods. I installed on my macbook pro and cloned disk. Had to copy kexts to SLE as they are not being loaded from bios.

No nvidia drivers, as expected. No audio (using AppleALC). No USB audio devices either (weird?).

Was able to login into iCloud, iMessage, etc.

Not sure what else to share.

Installed macOS Sierra after long efforts, is not loading from UEFI FakeSMC and VoodooHDA, so, I have to install both directly in the system. Also I want to thank IronManJFF for his support, I change the USB connections of my Apple Bluetooth and my configuration to iMac 13,2 in order to install macOS Sierra, it don't allow the installation in MacPro 3,1. The system look stable.

Ok, in order to avoid the lost USB ports I try different configurations and the one I found compatible with macOS Sierra is the Mac mini Server (Late 2012).

P.S. Anyway, I hope the gurus will update the ROM to accommodate the new challenges presented by macOS Sierra. :D

How about iMac13,2?

With iMac 13,2 i lost two internal USB ports, with MacPro 5,1 I lost also two internal ports and with MacPro 6,1 I lost the three internal ports....the only one who keep the three internal ports working is the Mac mini Server (Late 2012).

Hey Guys, I have had such good luck with my Quo board but have been unable to get OS X EL Capitan installed. Not even the installer will boot for me. I am using the 10.11.5 installer.

I have tried using disk maker to create a USB flash installer. I have tried different USB ports. I have verified that the USB installer boots a real iMac 2011 properly. I have added the -v to the kernal args in the boot.plist.

I have tried disabling the nvidia injection using "sudo nvram 1F8E0C02-58A9-4E34-AE22-2B63745FA101:DisableNvidiaInjection=%01" (from Yosemite)

I have tried setvar csr-active-config -GUID 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 -nv ="50000000" (from the EFI Shell) however that returned an error that the variable doesn't exist.

When booting from the USB flash drive (with the 10.11.5 installer) I have gotten the Apple logo but no progress bar then the screen just goes black. I don't get any text even though verbose mode is on.

My config is i5 3570K, Asus GTX 670 DCU2, H2O.167X-MASS (EFI Build version: HermitCrabs-Lab-20151103 from ver on the EFI Shell, from BIOS Z77MX.QUO.AOS.H20.1512242359)

Yosemite works great on this config, but would like to get El Capitan running.

If anyone has any tips I would appreciate it. Thanks

One thing I haven't tried is removing the GFX card. I know that that has been recommended in the past, but I have never had any problems leaving the card installed all through the various firmware versions and OSX versions, all the way since Mountain Lion.

Yesterday I just purchased a system with this motherboard.  El Capitan is running with only one major problem.  I can't get sound out.  In system preferences/sound, the output is pointing to AppleTV.  Any suggestions.  Second issue.  The system came with a terrible case.  Does anyone have a printout of the pins for the case to motherboard or  better yet, If anyone has a copy of the manual, I sure would appreciate.   I searched for it and I can't locate it.  Thanks in Advance.
