dwdrummer0
Quick question, aside from officially supporting El Capitan and RAID support, is there any other reason to upgrade from 1479 to new BIOS? I see some other updates but not sure if they will improve my current setup.. Fixed All reported bugs Added RAID and El Capitan support Updated CPU MicroCode SandyBridge 6A7-29/IvyBridge 6A9-1B Updated OROM/EFI IRST RAID for SATA - v14.6.0.2285 Updated EFI GOP Driver IvyBridge - 3.0.1027 / SandyBridge - 2.0.1024 Updated HermitShell with SETVAR application/fixed BCFG application Im on Mavericks and had El Capitan working on 1479 with no issues other than El Capitan not being as stable as I want right now. (waiting for more updates) I may give this new BIOS a shot so i'm ready for future releases of OSX or wait for another update ( I think I saw KING saying something about a "next release") Thanks in advance. THe KiNG
You have to admit that unless you know that tool exists, that is not the most obvious thing to search for I was thinking it was some command line slash to output it to a drive - apparently that tool makes things even simpler. Will post the logs when I get home. ...but thanks for the reply. I am just a bit bummed that there seems to be a bug on the latest BIOS and it booting Windows, but let's see if it is possible to find a workaround after I post the logs. Hope you didn't lost your way home I am booting windows every day(despite OS X) on 2 diff computers, also never heard anyone else to have this "bug" until you and Allrounder, so without dumps this wont get fixed if is a bug...
rakimbadu
After the update i can boot my El Capitan hdd while i cannot boot the Windows 10 hdd anymore. In boot selection screen i select Windows boot manager than nothing, screen stay black. I had to reinstall the previous bios in order to boot Windows . Anyone had this problem? i wrote it 4 pages ago, after the bios update osx boot normally, with windows instead only black screen. I had to restore the previous bios becouse right now i don't want to reinstall win

THe KiNG
i wrote it 4 pages ago, after the bios update osx boot normally, with windows instead only black screen. I had to restore the previous bios becouse right now i don't want to reinstall win Sorry I lost my magic wand, so I cannot do anything without dumps, other then ignore "bugs" that comes with no additional info/dumps... Simple getting tired to ask over and over for those.

THe KiNG
And this is the dump for 1669, where the Windows SSD is not booting: Now while on 1669M start HermitShell and type: fs0: cd \EFI\Microsoft\ Bootootmgfw.efi After each line press Enter. Let me know if Windows Boots. If still dosen't boot, reboot and press several times ESC key until you see a red screen, that mean Ozmosis is disabled and you can pres quick F12 to get on AMI boot selection, select Built-In EDK Shell and type again those commands I said earlier. 00:020 00:000 HD(1,GPT,4C9CBC40-609F-4F95-8E28-8515A2AB45A6,0x28,0x64000)/\EFI\Microsoft\Bootootmgfw.efi (0x74) WTF is that Bootootmgfw.efi no idea What is weird is that in my case the path is not like on you \EFI\Microsoft\Bootootmgfw.efi but \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.efi Did you mounted the EFI partition in OS X? As last resort if it still does not boot from shell do this on shell: fs0: cd \EFI\Microsoft\ cp -R Bootootmgfw.efi FS0:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.efi
dwdrummer0
Tried 1669 today. Everything works great when I disconnect my Time Machine drive. When connected, I get blank screens on boot for both HDMI and DVI. Key commands do not work either when computer is in this state. Reverting back to 1479 until next BIOS release. And yes, although I don't remember well, I think at some point that EFI partition was mounted in OSX.
THe KiNG
And yes, although I don't remember well, I think at some point that EFI partition was mounted in OSX. Still this doesn't explain why it works with older Bios... What DarwinDumper version you used? When you can send me in private full dumps so I can look on ioreg for boot log, maybe is a bug on bdmesg or boot log protocol... If others get same result on bdmesg I am waiting for full dumps. Thanks for the support - Yeah, I can send these to you, but it will only be tomorrow since I am currently away and can only check it in over 1 day The DarwinDumper was the latest available (yes, "latest" is no version number...) - 2.9.9.1 or something like that. IronManJFF
If you installed with Clover it will create /EFI on the filesystem... Which will make the EFI partition unable to attach to this mount point.... Just a tought...

Which will make the EFI partition unable to attach to this mount point.... Just a tought... Clover was never even near this system - mind you, again, that it has worked just fine with every single BIOS version up until the last version. I am actually coming home today, so in around 1h or so I should be able to try the solutions that The King proposed

Dunno what to say... It did not work, mostly, because in reality, my EFI partition and file names look just like yours, but trying to manually boot them with the correct naming and path from shell doesn't work either: I think there is a bug with the BIOS. Micky1979
No Google, nor the Microsoft tech site can find "Bootootmgfw.efi".....is coming from the future? Seriously (was a quip ), did you play with Bcdedit?
blackosx
I believe Jaco2k copied the bootlog from DarwinDumper's html report. Testing here I see in bootlog.txt file: 00:383 00:004 Added Boot000C "Windows Boot Manager" 00:383 00:000 PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1F,0x2)/Sata(0x0,0xFFFF,0x0)/HD(1,GPT,BC1B343C-2D6B-4C0C-8B88-71C2AFCF6E65,0x28,0x64000)/\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.efi (0x90) 00:429 00:045 Matched Boot0000 "MainSystem 10.11.1" 00:429 00:000 PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1F,0x2)/Sata(0x0,0xFFFF,0x0)/HD(3,GPT,47E2A5DE-B075-4993-AFC1-B7867A644A5D,0x224028,0x6C72FC0)/\System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi (0x9A)But in html report I see 00:383 00:004 Added Boot000C "Windows Boot Manager" 00:383 00:000 PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1F,0x2)/Sata(0x0,0xFFFF,0x0)/HD(1,GPT,BC1B343C-2D6B-4C0C-8B88-71C2AFCF6E65,0x28,0x64000)/\EFI\Microsoft\Bootootmgfw.efi (0x90) 00:429 00:045 Matched Boot0000 "MainSystem 10.11.1" 00:429 00:000 PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1F,0x2)/Sata(0x0,0xFFFF,0x0)/HD(3,GPT,47E2A5DE-B075-4993-AFC1-B7867A644A5D,0x224028,0x6C72FC0)/\System\Library\CoreServicesoot.efi (0x9A)So \b is being stripped from the file. Seriously (was a quip ), did you play with Bcdedit? Actually, I think yes - it was to change the boot order, which for some reason wouldn't stick in BIOS settings. But this was long ago...

But this was long ago... I am still waiting for full dumps in my PM... In the mean time flash original F2N if windows boots then is Ozmosis "bug" that we need to find what/where. IMHO do not play with m$ {censored}, for boot order change on windows use EasyUefi BTW did you disabled Ozmosis with ESC key as I asked?
