pedro_sandchez
so a friend of mine purchased a macbook when they first came out. She has the basic model with combo drive. She would really like to have dvd burning capabilities, and if at all possable, dual layer. is this a possable upgrade or is she stuck going with an external drive? I f one could find out the model of the new dual layer super drives in the merom Imacs, would it be possable to get my hands on one and put it in her macbook? I'm assuming the Imac uses slimline drives as well, though I may be wrong Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/28524-upgrading-dvd-drive-in-macbook/ Share on other sites
Swad
While I might be wrong, I think she's stuck. I'm sure it's possible to upgrade but quite a challenge. External DVD writer might be the way to go.
