gothic860
Hi, has anyone a working ML install with a mobile Kepler GPU? I tried nearly everything i know but i stuck before the desktop should pop up. - Chameleon and Clover - all bootflags i know - DSDT injection - different .kexts (NVidia, from 10.8.3, 10.8.2) - Vendor and Device IDs added - different SMBios Any ideas? My laptop doesnt have Optimus (IPS Screen = no Optimus) so this shouldnt be the problem. If i remove all NV kexts i can start but with no QE CI :wink2: . Any ideas? styrian
I think you have to wait til the new IMac with the GTX 660m are out. A little bit off Topic: Is your Mac BookPro broken, because you are back again? gothic860
Like i said i dont have Optimus. Its an IPS-Screen with 10bit and it cant be driven by the HD4000 (only 8 or 6-bit i dont know). I cant activate the 4000HD in Bios or Windows so i dont think its enabled anywhere. EDIT: Sold it, i just like my Dockingstations too much and i need the power of the K4000M etc.. :wink2: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/284767-anyone-mobile-kepler-6xxm-working/#findComment-1871084 Share on other sites

TeoTheCool
I tried the same things as you and still no dice... I think we need a master programmer to find out what the problem is and why the 650m, for example, works on MBPs but not on Hackintosh lappys Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/284767-anyone-mobile-kepler-6xxm-working/#findComment-1871176 Share on other sites

TeoTheCool
@kraml I saw your post and I tried installing Chameleon r2137 but I still have the same problem Your K2000M and my 660m seem pretty close in specs so I don't know what's wrong. Could you please give more information about your system, like what OS X version you have, what nvidia drivers you have, etc? TeoTheCool
Haha, I don't think it does, I get like 2h on idle... Please, I know my laptop, this is one of the reasons I bought it, because the HD4000 is disabled from CPU or something like that lol Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/284767-anyone-mobile-kepler-6xxm-working/#findComment-1872347 Share on other sites

Micky1979
There is not, but this is not the point. I was referring to the fact that the Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge systems, using the onboard video, or rather his bus, as a channel for the discrete on laptop PC. Could you please give more information about your system, like what OS X version you have, what nvidia drivers you have, etc? I have ML 10.8.2. I have installed the late 2012 mac update, which is for newer macs that comes with newer nvidia chip. You can get it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1603 I use the nvidia driver included in this update, which is slightly newer than the retail driver. For other information you may already know in the other post of mine. TeoTheCool
Thanks kraml, but it still doesn't work. I guess this ghost HD4000, even though not present, is still influencing my osx somehow... AREOS
Thanks kraml, but it still doesn't work. I guess this ghost HD4000, even though not present, is still influencing my osx somehow... I'll just give up already because I don't think I have the knowledge to go on lol Be patience, my G74SX with sandybridge does not implement the intel HD3000 just the discrete GTX560M, I dont see why ASUS do a different thing with your G55, you need a driver that in deed include your GPU, and like you already suppose that will be 10.8.3 drivers. You tried the 12D32 build drivers, there is a newer 12d38 build and remember is still at beta stage, the 10.8.3 drivers must support the gtx660M because the new iMacs will have it. Try the new 12d38 build and update with the results.
