I believe you my friend  the actual sound is not heard after selecting them and restarting. Strange.

Hmm, could you please upload your Clover folder? Something has to be different. :)

Awesome, Audio via r4857 is working fine on my mach with ALC269-VB through Output Speaker or Headphone.

It seems a good time for updating all my uploaded Themes on repo with sound*.wav included #LoL (if only it supports *.ogg with smaller size, good quality but.. #NVM, 44100Hz with 1 Channel (Mono) is small enough for WAV, I think.

#Question: Any simpler way knowing Native NVRAM is functional? Yeah, on my case CloverThemeManager gives me info about it; not sure though.. NVRAM vars are also saved & loaded upon booting.

I choose 5. Line out. But after restart, no sound again.

Hmm... Mat, your sound.wav seems to be 22.3 kHz instead of 44.1 kHz. Not sure that would make a difference....but I'm trying to take them one by one and see where does it fail. Also, make sure you have the latest Clover installed. And update AudioDxe upon installation, just in case there could be something in that that could create issues.

Also, I'd say...try to clear NVRAM (F11 on Clover boot selection screen), then try to set everything once again.

Could you, please, try the attached sound.wav instead?

Your setup looks ok... And if it works from Shell with option 5, that should also be the choice for Clover Startup Sound UI.

Could be.. On my tests; 8000, 44100 (Hz) are working.. while 11025, 22050 are not.

(Not really sure with 48000Hz, my issue with this freq is damn big *.wav size #LoL)

Well, both 44100 and 8000 are set to work. They're supposed to work. Other values...not sure. I honestly haven't tried that. But better try to work with files that are supposed to work, to minimise the points of failure. But if you did try them, then, as you said, that could be why it doesn't work for him... Only one way to find out. :D

me too. but 8000hz sound is not good. similar electronic sound. f7 test sound with bootcamp theme, same too(electronic).

in my case i can listen good quality with only 44100hz.

so, clovy theme sound is not good for me. because it has 8000hz

EDIT1.

when play clovy theme sound.wav in itunes, sound quality is not bad. it doesn't have electronic sound.

i think clover force to change frequency? 8000 hz to 44100hz? in this process, generate electronic sound?

i don't know exactly. i didn't see it in detail.

I've got the sound, now. Thanks a lot. I did not check my downloaded file on the forum on a previous post

The sound come on Clover "scan entries" instead of Clover GUI. Is this normal?

Haha! The sound should be played before the UI shows up. I don't have "scan entries" activated, but yeah, I think that's probably intended.

Also, you're welcome. :)

Same.

Awesome!

Is there a way to get rid of the metallic sound of the wav? It played clearly testing with BootChimeCfg but when hitting F7 in the Clover options and when it plays automatically it is buzzy.  My desktop it plays fine. Stupid laptop.

The sound by F7 is not Chime sound it is guitar sound by Roger Glover.

If 8000 works then 48000 works too.

EDIT:

Yes but the sound.wav from Clovy theme was metallic and buzzy when played at boot.

"If 8000 works then 48000 works too."

Thanks for this.

Updating from 4858 to 4859 and converting the wav to 48000 32 bit float fixed it. This is crazy awesome!

But here is what it was like before

Do you know how to disable 'scan entries' at startup. Thanks.

well. i tried this on my Dell but something is not right.

It can load BootChime in shell and sound works - sets/plays sound properly when i select Speaker.

but i get this with Clover  (on latest 4859)

Question:

is there a way to set display Menu ratio X:Y ?

my native screen is FHD 1920x1080 (16:9 = 1.778)

but i have to boot with 1280x1024 (1.25) or 1024x768 (1.333)

so everything looks squashed.

I am using Clovy - so it may be adjustable? - I see scale multipliers but not sure for non-uniform x vs y.

Hi

I don't understand why Clover shows only 2 devices on my system: Nvidia, Intel Pointer... Where is Realtek ALC892! Is this normal. Thanks.

No idea... This is what it looks like in my case. And...believe it or not, option nr 3 seems to be Realtek ALC 892 according to DPCIManager.

Don't confuse the high definition audio controller chipset with the high definition audio codec chipset.

I haven't had much success with this boot audio so far but with 4859 it's now playing back the built-in sound fine. However I want it to play back a custom chime.

I'm using the embedded theme and put the sound.wav into the theme folder but it defaults to the built-in one. Is it not possible to replace the chime for the embedded theme or is this a bug?
