The sync with OC 0.9.7 is done. It was quite a big job so mistakes and bugs can always slip in.

So please, everyone who'd like to help, try CloverX64-2024-01-02-19-36-23-b204910-dirty-jief0.9.7.zip

If it works for you, great.

If it doesn't, DO NOT CHANGE anything to your config yet. There was no changes about configuration, so if it doesn't work : it's a bug.

In the case, send me your log.

NOTE : for everyone who need BlockSkyWalk. I don't know yet if it resolve the issue, but it's suppose to (unless OC has the same issue).

When it's successful, I'll move the master branch to this new version.

Thanks.

@mariosun did that just hang at +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++, or did the kernel started and crash ?

So you have a working OC configuration. Great ! What version do you use ?

Could you try this OpenCore efi OpenCore-v0.9.7.efi

and this <<deleted>>

The first one is the official DEBUG version of OC downloaded from their github,

The second one is one compiled by me.

The point of the test is to rule out compilation problems, and make sure that OC 0.9.7 works in your case.

Please send me the log produced by OpenCore_jief.efi

Thanks for your help.

EDIT : sorry, made a mistake wuth the second file. I'll post it soon.

Yes, put it in your working OpenCore folder (reminder : if you use BootloaderChooser, you can keep the name "OpenCore_jief.efi", or whatever you like, and select the efi to boot)

You may also create a boot entry in your bios. Of course, you can rename it OpenCore.efi to use the default.

@Jief_Machak

thank for your effort

this is the log for opencore3.efi:

opencore-2024-01-03-065030.zip

better than opencore2.efi (now i see standard initial opencore debug line)

Same black screen when i should see my openCore graphical interface

Happy that it is working for others intel users who have problem before

Maybe for AM5* (amd latest platform) problem is to deep to rule

* i specify AM5 because this platform has also other problem with Clover bootloader (no perfect audio)
i add some link if you missed them (not useful for problem you are trying to solve by now)

Funny thing is that also Opencore bootloader had this problem and AMD comunity solved this problem using some Clover Bootloader code to patch opencore :)

Clover code used in OpenCore:

https://github.com/CloverHackyColor/CloverBootloader/blob/master/rEFIt_UEFI/Platform/cpu.cpp#L960

opencore merged pull request:

https://github.com/acidanthera/OpenCorePkg/pull/396

if someone wants to compile the CloverBootloader branch of jief themselves without waiting for a commit or release, here is a console file that will download everything that is needed from the repository:

jiefclovergit
Everything compiled for me and works fine.

Yes, I put everything in a branch. But I didn't know if buildme would switch back to master.

Glad it's working.

Seems to work at least as well as the previous version so I think I can commit these modification into master.

@mariosun it looks like I have taken theses modification.

Can you tell me exactly what version of OpenCore works ? Have compiled it yourself ? Have you taken it from the repo ? Which version ?

Downloaded from the repo and compiled Clover revision: 5156 (0.9.7branch, commit e3a200399). It works fine for me. To return to the master branch need to delete the local sources and download again branch master.

I've move the master branch to be at the tip of the 0.9.7branch.

If you do a git pull in OpenCorePkg, you'll get "hint: You have divergent branches and need to specify how to reconcile them."

To avoid re-clone,  you can do "git reset --hard $(git merge-base master origin/master)".

You may need to do the same in the main folder.

If you're not sure, full re-clone is an option.

It worked to change to the master branch, but I couldn't find how to change to your branch again.
