Works fine for me as well. 3507b restores the NVRAM functionality. Previous 2 clover releases did break NVRAM support. Before that it was never an issue.

After i have installed clover 3504 the system profiler shows me MacPro3,1 instead MacBookPro8,2, i've not changed anything @SMBIOS, after reinstalling 3411 i see MacBookPro again.

Same here with 3507 on my laptop. Reverting to 3469 fixed it.

X79 isn't affected so it may have to do with the length of MBP model names.

What is written in your SMBIOS section of config.plist?

The common rule is "If you are using a Model not defaulting by Clover then you must fill all fields".

For example "BoardVersion" you should fill as "MacBookPro8,2"

It seems LegacyRegion is too late applied. Wait for new revision of boot file with this LegacyRegion included.

Update: Problem solved by replacing the card with my idled GT430 and using the Clover r3504. I can get 1080P in Clover now. Thanks a lot for your help!

hello. I'm a bit confused with my DSDT.

Using MaciASL, I believe I can load my the currently used DSDT via "New from ACPI=>DSDT". I compared the DSDT vs the DSDT.aml that I am loading via clover and they are different.

I am wondering if clover is somehow modifying the contents of my edited DSDT.aml before it gets loaded? thanks!

very new to clover since I was using chameleon on my AMD setup before. thanks

edit: seems clover does modify the DSDT since I disabled any tweaks I have on the ACPI section and my DSDT came back without any changes.

@Riley Freeman, i have also tried 3507 but it shows me MacPro3,1, only with 3489 and earlier revisions it shows me the right name.

@Slice, with BoardVersion=MacBookPro8,2 it is the same, i also see MacPro3,1

If i choose MacBookPro8,1 or 8,3 i see the name i've chosen

one way is to fill up everyhing in smbios untill the so called "bug" of yours gets fixed.

config.plist's smbios overwrites clover's defaults.

I'm trying with 3507 again. I've added BoardVersion and BoardSerialNumber but it's still showing up as MacPro3,1. Haven't had a problem with this SMBIOS until now.

in my experience, one doesn't need to fill all the SMBIOS values in config.plist - these 2 keys (BoardVersion and ProductName) are enough to define the system as say MBP8,1

I think it's a bug. The last few Clover releases have had problems and I know SMBIOS was being tweaked recently.

I'm gonna keep the laptop on 3469 for now. 3489 has broken nvram.

well - ok maybe there is no reason for you to upgrade - however, just note that I am running on clover 3513 and using these 2 keys without issue to define the model. Nvram values are getting saved to nvram for me? but maybe i don't know what you mean by broken. i do similar thing on my mini-mac hack - set these 2 keys to change the model to what i want it to be.

There's rarely a need for me to upgrade, but I like to stay current. However the last couple of releases (on the sf main page) have had issues. Seems this SMBIOS issue only shows up if you use a model that Clover doesn't have built-in. In my case it's MBP9,1. MBP8,1 is built-in according to the list on the wiki so that's likely why you're not having any trouble.

Nvram was broken in 3489 and 3504. It kept losing the boot-args variable. Slice posted a 3507 update here that fixed things.

well maybe I would not characterize your observation on model type as bug in the newest clover - it was a change in the code! see below where clover will set MacPro3,1 as the default

so it seems to be a simple matter to set ProductName and BoardVersion to override Clover's matching of CPU to model if you don't like what it picks.

Yes, it can happen esp if you have enabled any DSDT fixes. But even if not, a more safe (and easy) way to get your original and unpatched DSDT is not to load it via MaciASL, but to dump it using a builtin Clover function. Just press "F4" when you are at the clover menu. Then you can find the whole dump (not only DSDT but other tables as well) under /EFI/Clover/ACPI/origin

If you follow the Clover bugs thread there's been a lot of changes made recently. That can lead to bugs like this. Which is why I report problems when I find them. Once the devs are aware of this, it should get fixed in a later build.
