@chiefsalami, please read our Rule about tonymac.

Anyway editing the SystemProfiler.plist as was described at tonymac is a poor solution, and is only cosmetics..

Sorry about the link. I realize that solution is only cosmetic, which is why I would rather not change it that way. Do you know what the source of that info is, so I can change it there?

Am I the only one having problems checking out svn?

No, I was having a problem too. Use .git

It comes from RadeonFramebuffer if you didn't inject ATI=true

No, I was having a problem too. Use .git

What is git? Clover sources is on svn.

Why would I use an unofficial source? I may just go ahead and install precompiled versions, if I had too...

I have the same problem with El Capitan.

Even disabling SIP with this codes + native AppleHDA/DummyHDA in L/E or S/L/E.

<key>RtVariables</key>
<dict>
<key>BooterConfig</key>
<string>0x28</string>
<key>CsrActiveConfig</key>

Allan, are you on a beta version of OS X, like 10.11.2? Cause I have no such issues with 10.11.1. But I'm using toleda's Clover patching method. And I have no issues with the sound. Did you have sound before? And if so, which method did you use? When did these issues start?

I never used betas or GMs version, only the Final.

I start using OS X 10.11 and trying install DummyHDA + Clover's patch, like i always do in OS X 10.9 and OS X 10.10.

When I noticed it was not working, I tested AppleHDA and patches in DSDT = Without success too...

I used Micky's tool too, but without success...

Now i'll reinstall OS X 10.11...again... :(

Possible cause: non-native AppleHDA kext + El Capitan + SIP set to 0x0.

that unmodified Aplle kext and booted with

<key>RtVariables</key>

<dict>

<key>BooterConfig</key>

<string>0x28</string>

<key>CsrActiveConfig</key>

<string>0x67</string>

Is it patched kext? The patch will violate Code Signature.

its patched with clover on the fly but not manually patched or changed

will it effect Code Signature how tfix it ??

i always use appleHDA+DummyHDA+ Clover's patch which was working fine on 10.9.5 &10.10.5 But broke in 10.11.1 Dont know how to fix it already installed El-Cap twice....  :help:  :help:  :help:  :wallbash:  :wallbash:

DummyHDA? Never heard of this. For as far as I know, toleda's Clover patching doesn't use such a file... Do you need it for your specific motherboard? Maybe you can ask about this on toleda's thread? I'm sure he has a lot more experience in this area.

I only need that script that he has to fix my sound. RealtekALC.kext gets downloaded into Clover/kexts and I get sound. That easy.

And no, for as far as I know, toleda's Clover patching method does not touch the AppleHDA kext. So no, it cannot break its signature.

since 10.11 dummyhda works only in sle

not in clover inject anymore :-)

just move your dummy to sle and rebuild cache :-)

Cheers :-)

Ok, so that's cool and all. But if I got this right, this is useful only if you already got a patched (non-native) AppleHDA kext and you want to turn it into Clover's patch on the fly. But...by doing this, you're not resigning the original AppleHDA kext. :) So...the signature is still broken. And yes, it won't be recognized as "native" anymore. Now, why it still doesn't load it even with proper permissions...that I don't know.

My question is...why are you patching the kext and then turn it into Clover patching instead of using the original, untouched kext and just run toleda's script to patch the sound? Doesn't the script work for your motherboard?

my Mb have Via VT 2020 so toleda scripts wont work and no this method dont chanhe anything from apple hda this just required to have a working apple hda to get the configuration from there i think quite similar to toleda scripts although i am not sure as i have never used toleda's scripts.... :( :(

my dummyhda is already in S/L/E and loaded but my apple hda is not loaded dont know why :( :(

how you guys rebuild kernel cache in EL-Cap??I used kext utility to build kernel cache from 10.6 but in El cap Kext utility adds some useless flag in Nvram

I guess there are more ways to do this...

I just remove the content of the Startup folder in terminal, with this command:

sudo rm -r -v /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/*

And let it rebuild itself on next reboot.

"dummy" or regular custom kexts can be in /L/E or /S/L/E  -- per Apple, best practice to rebuild caches is to touch /System/Library/Extensions

see man kextcache

Caution: Incorrect use of kextcache can render a volume incapable of startup.  Installers and

administrators should not use this program to update system kext caches.  Instead they should

run touch(1) on the /System/Library/Extensions/ directory of the installation target volume

after they have finished, which invalidates the existing caches and causes the system to update

all necessary kext caches.  kextcache -update-volume can be used to wait for this process to

complete.  See ``Apple Developer Technical Q&A QA1319: Installing an I/O Kit Kext Without

Rebooting'' for information on updating kext caches on prior releases of Mac OS X.

can you give give detailed on how to build kextcache in EL-cap already see "man kextcache" but i am not that good with terminal

Some audio codecs need an extra patch for El Capitan in order to zero out newly-added codecs that conflict. So if your dummy HDA and Clover patch worked in Yosemite but not anymore check your codec and see what extra patch(es) you need.

such as ......what kind of patch any clue or idea

Check if your HPET is working...

How to check if HEPT is working was working fine in Yosemite for me don't know about EL-cap

If HPET is not working your AppleHDA will be mute in some cases,

if your patch is targeting 8b19d411 (to replace it with your codec) you have to zeroed out the 8419d411 (as always), in El Capitan additionally you have also to zeroed out the 8319d411 codec...

for HPET, check AppleHPET in kextstat

And if your dummy kext has a link to the binary. Check that it is still a vaild link pointing to AppleHDA

Rebuild cache in terminal this way will dump output.

Run sudo kextcache -i /

And watch for your dummy kext in the output. Usually there is output due to invalid signature. Which us ok

So watch for other issues
