MacUser2525
Legacy Boot is not working in many cases and we are surrender about it. Perhaps you should remove that option then, if it does not work then no sense in it being there, other than generating useless post that cannot be resolved if you can look upon that as a good point that is. Slice
Chameleon is still useful bootloader as it can boot WindowsXP for those poor guys who can't do legacy boot with Clover. And I have to remind that two bootloaders may be used together.
Eps
I have a problem. I want to change my platform uuid and I make InjectSystemID true. Dr. Hurt
I'm still having the auto boot problem. Updated the laptop from Clover 2890 to 3113 and now, it too, doesn't auto boot. Timeout=0 -> partition selected but no auto boot. Fast=true -> auto boot works !! GUI or text only makes no difference. Both systems have legacy BIOS and use Clover EFI. alexanderq
Another auto boot problem that i have with clover is that when i choose from startup disk in osx windows 8 efi entry Clover boots it OK but if i choose windows 7 legacy it still boots windows 8 efi entry. If i delete windows 8 than it boots windows 7 legacy ok it is like it can't detect that they are different entries.I have to say that i boot Clover legacy and from GUI both entries boot OK. crusher
Well this is a new one. Straight after the Gigabyte logo at boot I get no disk activity at all and it just hangs at this: Help! You install OsxAptioFixDrv?
ballistic
You install OsxAptioFixDrv? YES! That fixed it crushers, thanks Serves me right for experimenting after a few beers. I then had to 'un fix' all of the changes I had made when I was trying to fix it in the first place. One thing I have seen is that fakeSMC is being loaded twice. That doesn't seem right.... So in the log I find the following. Does this mean that I can remove fakeSMC from Clover kexts directory as it is a duplicate? 31/12/2014 15:30:12.000 kernel[0]: OSMetaClass: Kext org.netkas.FakeSMC class FakeSMCKey is a duplicate;kext org.netkas.driver.FakeSMC already has a class by that name. 31/12/2014 15:30:12.000 kernel[0]: Kext org.netkas.FakeSMC start failed (result 0xdc00400a). 31/12/2014 15:30:12.000 kernel[0]: Kext org.netkas.FakeSMC failed to load (0xdc008017). 31/12/2014 15:30:12.000 kernel[0]: Failed to load kext org.netkas.FakeSMC (error 0xdc008017). 31/12/2014 15:30:12.000 kernel[0]: FakeSMC v6.11.1328 Copyright 2014 netkas, slice, usr-sse2, kozlek, navi, THe KiNG, RehabMan. tluck
@ballistic it is ok to keep a set (or subset) of the custom kexts (FakeSMC, Voodoo etc - i.e. hackintosh and/or non apple kext) in your EFI/Clover folder for when they are needed (installers for example). the best practice would be keep the same version. So to avoid dups or conflicts, then use method InjectKexts Detect - which means it will look in cache or /S/L/E and not inject the kext(s) from /EFI if found already. <key>SystemParameters</key> <dict> <key>InjectKexts</key> <string>Detect</string> <key>InjectSystemID</key> <true/> </dict>
ballistic
Thanks for the suggestion @tluck but Detect didn't seem to work. It didn't load my network kext and I still have the dupe fakeSMC showing in the boot logs. It's not causing an issue now but I suspect it is part of the reason why I have sleep and shutdown problems recently. I know suspect that having the kernel RTC patch AND the DSDT RTC fix selected was causing these issues. I've now deselected the fix and the machine is restarting sooner and shutting down faster. No annoying error messages after the reboot either. Ah. Typed too soon, just had a hang on shutdown.
tluck
@ballistic - ok well then I suspect something is not configured properly (2 different revs perhaps?). IMO it seems easier (i.e. not having to sort out dependency and pre-requisites for network and audio kexts) to install all custom Kexts to the /S/L/E. Then have these same essential kexts (exact same copy from /S/L/E) on /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other readily available for situations where is not practical to install in /S/L/E such as the OSX Installers. my gigabyte mobo is not very different than yours, but basically I use 3 custom kexts - FakeSMC, RealTek Network, and Audio for ALC889. (My AppleHDA-ALC889.kext must be installed in /S/L/E) here is my config.plist for reference: config.plist.zip my system log shows this for FakeSMC $ grep -i smc /var/log/system.log Dec 31 13:14:14 localhost kernel[0]: FakeSMCKeyStore: started Dec 31 13:14:14 localhost kernel[0]: FakeSMC v6.14.1364 Copyright 2014 netkas, slice, usr-sse2, kozlek, navi, THe KiNG, RehabMan. ballistic
So I gave it a try and also deleted the FakeSMC.kext from the 10.10 directory. The system seems stable now and the duplicate SMC messages have stopped. I can see messages that FakeSMC is being loaded but not from the EFI partition and I can't find it elsewhere on the system, so that's a real mystery how I have it but can't find it. Thanks for the help and pointers.
Riley Freeman
Here's my boot log: Can't seem to find whats causing clover to not auto boot. Look at 0.897 and 2:179 0:897 0:000 Default theme: embedded I had the same problem when using the embedded theme. If you pick an external one it will auto-boot fine.
Dr. Hurt
I had the same problem when using the embedded theme. If you pick an external one it will auto-boot fine. THAT WORKED Thank you very much... @Slice: Could you please fix this issue? Using embedded theme or text only break auto boot.
frankiee
I think mounting ESP is a bug. Will look carefully on this. In my case nvram contains Clover.MountEFI E223FF7F-F2DA-4DBB-B765-756F2D95B0FE but ESP is not automounted. Any news on this issue? Problem still there with rev 3113 And I also have some questions and remarks about the new OsxAptioFix2Drv, which is now included as a standard install option: Seems to work with native NVRAM now - YAY! Great! No need for EmuVariableUefi-64 anymore. So can I assume that the new driver is now recommended over the old one? Anything else that has changed, besides better NVRAM support? Any other changes and potential side effects to look for and be aware of? So if there are no other problems, this seems to be the better solution at least for my config. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Slice
THAT WORKED Thank you very much... @Slice: Could you please fix this issue? Using embedded theme or text only break auto boot. I will search a reason for the issue. Any news on this issue? Problem still there with rev 3113 Yes, the issue should be resolved with 3113 if you installed all new scripts and utilities by official installer.
