This black bars for NVIDIA is not a Clover-specific issue: probably also your motherboard BIOS and everything else before driver loads has the same black bars.

It seems that this problem can be solved only with patching VBIOS via Nibitor, enabling "Non-Native Display Panel" option, and flashing it back to the card.

You can find further information on how to do this on Google, if it interests you.

Regarding the 1680x1050 monitor - the log you posted shows you're using resolution 1920x1080 here, and that it worked. You didn't seem to have posted the log from the 1680x1050 case.

Is there a similar solution to ATI cards? I have black borders on the boot screen (pre-Clover also) and i'm running an XFX HD4850 card. The boot resolution is 1920x1080.

This question might have been asked already.

Is there a possibility that since Clover has the ability to run efi drivers that Clover could load better graphics drivers? I ask this because all of us with wide screens suffer from the dreaded Stretched Apple of Pain.

This works for me with CloverEFI to get fullscreen boot @1920x2080 with a 5770:

<key>PatchVBios</key>
<string>Yes</string>

Additionally i need the CsmVideoDxe-64.efi driver and the monitor EDID in the config.plist to get 1920x1080. But still can't shake those dreaded black borders.

sorry if my question seems silly, but i installed clover over chameleon and my doubt is: do i need the extra folder that was installed by chameleon or does clover detects automatically my hardware and so i do not need SMBios.plist file on extra folder.

sorry if this seems like a noob question ok tongue.png

HDMI audio poping on 2007 iMac SMBIOS (Clover picked this SMBIOS). Mac Pro 3,1 or newer poping appears. Only on the latest version. Ideas?

On my MSI build in sig.

Antipop daemon works fine for that, not the ideal solution but it works.

I'm pleased to announce that Clover is running fine on my PATA IDE drive.

Only 40 GB on the drive but it's enough for the system.

It works damn good.

The system is a lot more stable than with Chameleon.

In my opinion it's the best bootloader there is :D

I am runnning 10.8.2 with Clover 1043 (UEFI boot) on a gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP5-TH with a GeForce GTX660...

I currently only inject FakeSMC and the Intel Ethernet driver

There are two issues I would like advice on:

1) Audio support. What is the "best" mechanism to enable the alc898 sound chip? My goal is to be as "vanilla" as possible, and to only install kexts in the EFI/kexts/10.8 directory or patch within Clover... I currently have audio working using HDAenabler1 and a patched AppleHDA, however they must be placed in S/L/E. Is there an alternate method to either enable these to go in EFI/kexts/10.8 or simply patch using Clover???

2) Whenever I try to wake from sleep (power button or pressing a key), the system instantly reboots. I see conflicting information that this is either a USB dsdt issue or a Clover bug... is there a fix/workaround for this?

Thanks,

-Jim

I'm facing the same thing. Launching any application after waking from Sleep crashes the machine. What's your config.plist looking like? Are you using USB injection?

I'm in my preliminary research stage trying to put together a machine for a friend with a similar setup to yours. I'm wondering if you might have a link to some documentation on the GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UP5 TH or if you were piecing it together as you went along.

The goal of using thunderbolt is for high speed data transfer and taking in video and outputting it to show live color correction. He's making it work via a MacBook pro, but is trying to get a more reasonable setup.

The problem I'm running into, is I haven't built a hackintosh in about five years. And I can only find one guide that has no discussion surrounding it. Also, this mobo isn't listed in the Wiki, which was a huge help to me in the past.

If you have any links that could point me in the right right direction, I'd be grateful. Thanks!
