jtp.redson
The problem is how do we know if and when the whitelist will be removed for our current PCs. Does anyone know from the bios changelog of newer PCs with no whitelist? Does HP specifically mention it in the changelog or do we have to just try out the blacklisted cards? Micky1979
You can do the download of Phoenixtool.exe (for use in Windows) on mydigitallifeforum, and decompress a copy of your bios downloaded from HP. This program is able to tell if have the Whitelist! Micky Ivy Bridge envy also no longer has whitelists A person I know installed a Dell DW1702 and it booted without any problems. Ivy bridge Envy is equal to my DV 7, same machine, so no whitelist! Micky

iLoveOSX
Hi Micky. I have a dw1520 card BCM943224HMS but osx can't turn on the card. I've found a tutorial here for rebrand the card but isn't easy for me. Can you tell me if this method works also for BCM943224HMS? Grazie ;-)

Install OS X 10.8.5+ and patch dsdt as the guide here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/292542-airport-pcie-half-mini/
YuTech
I have a dv6 6b55eg. I want to replace my BCM4313, with a supported one. Now I want to figure out, if I also have no whitelist. So I tried to open the http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp60501-61000/sp60655.exe (F.1C) but the phoenixtool says "Not Phoenix/Dell/Insyde/EFI BIOS." Can someone please help me with that? Or tell me if sp60655.exe has a whitelist or not. Thank you for every help
Micky1979
No simply way for your lappy: have the withe list. You can patch your bios or use a patched one from Camiloml or ask to donovan6000...at your own risk, only.

I would to buy a skylake HP notebook, (maybe probook G450/470), d'you know if HP has still wifi whitelist in theyr laptops? How should I inform? I tried to install in windows (and in another pc) phoenix UEFI winflash to scan BIOS downloaded from hp site and see if there is a whitelist, but the BIOS is downloaded in .exe and the program can't read it. I would really avoid to flash the bios...
