strukt
Motherboard is a Asus P5b. And one dedicated 320GB disk on SATA where the plan is to install OSX.. When i insert the DVD the message System config file '/com.apple.Boot.pList' not found. comes up. I have tried booting from two dvd drives but the same message appears. How do i solve this? I have tried searching the forum for that error message and have found some threads, but none that actually solves the problem. When i press F8 something like "Ethernet PXE Client" comes up, if i select that it just goes back to the same message. Please help a hackintoshnoob Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/28373-jas-1047-system-config-file-comapplebootplist-not-found/ Share on other sites

Biofobico
i had the same problem on vmware. then i try another solution : i installed natively using a free HD that i have. follow this tutorial http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=11339. Make sure that the HD its primary master and the boot device secondary master. Sabr
ASUS P5B uses the P965 chipset, right? You'll wanna read here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=26858 Although it is to do with a completely different motherboard, it is 7 pages worth of trying to get OSx86 working properly on our Intel P965 chipset motherboard. However, I wouldn't recommend posting questions in that thread, since you have a different motherboard Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/28373-jas-1047-system-config-file-comapplebootplist-not-found/#findComment-194286 Share on other sites
retailer
strukt, ive got that mainboard, too. theres a problem with ide dvd and harddisk drives, caused by the JMicron chip. you should get an SATA or USB harddisk and dvd drive. if you still have troubles with sata drives, i think changing ide mode to AHCI in your bios should help. thats what i read in some threads here, for myself i prefer the USB method -- i'm writing this from my hackintosh Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/28373-jas-1047-system-config-file-comapplebootplist-not-found/#findComment-194306 Share on other sites

mbrandall
Hey, I'm not sure about the network thing, but from what I can tell, it almost seems as if the boot DVD needs a HDD that is either blank, or formatted in FAT32 before it can boot. I've tried to boot the DVD's (two seperate DVD's burnt from the original dmg and the repacked iso) on machines with NTFS primary partitions, and it comes up with that error. Yet on all the machines, I can get it to work with VMWare no problems. It will require some furthur experimentation though. mMiniImManN
I think most ASUS boards support the mobo boot menu, try pressing the F-keys at the hard drive initialization (like where you'd press DEL to enter the bios) and the select the dvd rom to boot from, made my copy work flawlessly, some reason the dvd rom boot first in the bios wasn't enough... Oh wow, that guide mentions the boot menu.. my oh my, I thought I was the only one that knew what that menu was.. well, it does seem to be the trick, from my experience, the hotkey is mostly undocumented, and to my dismay, some boards don't have the option (IE, the Abit AB9 Pro that I just bought! ) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/28373-jas-1047-system-config-file-comapplebootplist-not-found/#findComment-199092 Share on other sites
