Slice
Hi Slice I see you've since discussed this in the getcodecid thread. Are you happy with the output shown in DarwinDumper? Yes, no more questions!
DonxDogx
First off I want to thank those responsible for DarwinDumper. I think it’s a fantastic app. I like that the kext’s are separated according to Apple and non Apple. My question is an unimportant one but I am curious. I have AtherosE2200Ethernet installed in S/L/E but I’m unable to identify it in either the Apple or non Apple listings. Is it possibly “airport.atheros40”?Thank you. Slice
Hi blackosx, strange characters in "Boot Loaders.txt" Produced under 10.11.2 Boot Loaders.txt
blackosx
Thanks for the note Slice. I'll have to install 10.11.2 beta and take a look.
blackosx
Hi Slice I’ve installed 10.11.2 15C27e and Boot Loaders.txt is fine here. I remember seeing something like this before back back on projectosx and I believe it’s some language encoding issue, but I find it strange that it’s only on certain characters. For example, the dashes show as ,Äì. For the main issue, the script is failing to find the ‘Clover revision:’ string in both the boot3 and boot6 files on disk1s2. Could these boot files be old and before you added the ‘Clover revision:’ string in to the boot file? I’ll add a check for this in to the script. EDIT: Fixed in commit bb43aae Still need to look in to the ,Äì instead of dashes issue. Any chance of finding the result of this on that machine? $ localeEDIT2: Attempted a fix with this commit Please can you try this version below?
blackosx
2.9.9b13 -> 2.9.9b15 - Add check for DarwinDumperReports dir when verifying path. Add extra bit to SIP settings.- Change SIP state detection to use Pike's csrstat app.- Remove older reports.- Fix bug when Clover revision: string is missing from boot file.- Use default C locale when writing lines to Boot Loaders.txt file. After many rounds of beta's, 2.9.9 is pretty much ready for release (that's hoping Slice's test of my fixes work). If anybody can think of anything else that needs to be addressed then please shout. EDIT: Attachment removed as v2.9.9 is now released

Slice
I found no pmset reports in DarwinDumper. Is it possible to add? I want to see hibernate mode and last wakes.
blackosx
Hi Slice I had this on my list of things to do but have obviously missed it How about I add: pmset -g and then maybe grep the system log for wake messages?
Slice
sudo pmset -g I just don't know how you did sudo in these scripts. And yes, part of system log will be interesting, 5 lines before Wake reason, and 10 lines after it. and another report sudo pmset -g log
jminrod
I am getting a black box when I run DarwinDumper that tells me to type in my password in the dialog box but I can not see it or find it. I tried what it said about it might be hidden but I do not see it. I am running 10.11.2 I believe I read that this software is compatible. I believe this is exactly what I need. I built this hack about 4 moths ago and I have been reading and trying to fix sound and bluetooth. But i feel I keep going down rabbit trails and not learning things that would be specific to my build. I am looking to get this to work so someone could point me in the right direction on how to properly troubleshoot. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I thought using terminal would eliminate the password option because it would go back to the root directory but I must have missed something. Micky1979
@jminrod what's the problem... you does not have a password for an Administrative account or you forgot it? Please explain better and a pict should be appreciated..
jminrod
Thanks for teh quick reply. I do know the password the problem is I do not have anywhere to type it, the dialog never shows. I am fairly new to terminal but I didn't get that to work. I will attach a screen shot of what I see when I run the darwin dumper. https://www.dropbox.com/s/zi5yx5wvxqk99qq/Darwin%20Dumper%20Screen%20shot.png?dl=0 I did get the non root report to work. If you could let me know best practice of what I should upload from that report? link from drop box? or just paste the text here?
Micky1979
is telling you that probably the window with the field where you can type the password is not visible, or is not the frontmost window... and DarwinDumper is waiting you to discover it...
jminrod
Yes, I thought it was hidden but I cant remove the black window and I tried selecting window>bring all to front. I also tried making sure that Darwindumper was the only app running just in case I was missing the window.
