Pit
Hi! I have Snow Leopard installed on my Intel PC. However, today I was replacing the hard drive and I broke SATA1 port. Now Snow Leopard can't boot. I remember that I couldn't install it until I put the HD on SATA1 port. So... is any chance that I can run it (I think it's iDeneb) on another SATA port? Any ideas? Thanks.
eep357
Disable that port in bios and use the next lowest number available. Needing to use port 1 to install seems to be a much more rare occurrence these days though

Needing to use port 1 to install seems to be a much more rare occurrence these days though Thanks for the reply. I can't find to disable SATA port on the bios (I have an Asus P6T Deluxe v2 motherboard), just to set manually in this port that doesn't have a HD connected (disable autodetection). I tried that connecting the HD to port 2 but does't work. Still displaying unable to find root device. Another ideas? Thanks anyway!
eep357
I think your in the AHCI/Storage configuration section. Here's from Sabertooth, very similar: depending on current chameleon settings, you can also try boot flag: rd=uuid* or rd=hd(1,2) changing the drive and partition # as needed

I'll try the boot flag on chameleon, thanks.
eep357
OK, cause there is 2 sections, and maybe I mix them up too

eep357
Do you have a DVD drive hooked up and if so to what port? Is SATA controller in AHCI mode or IDE? Can you boot to single user mode with -s?
Pit
I have a DVD but it's on an IDE port. SATA is AHCI and can't boot to single user
eep357
If you have any other hard drives, whether they are sata, ide, or usb, disconnect them and try. If still fail, try with only the SL drive hooked up via a usb enclosure if you have one
