spakk
Great work all for this i just wanted to help on this as well and be a tester to help more of the amd community I have a asus crosshair v formula z board with the new pile driver chip what would be the best way to install this can some one point me in the right direction thanks. look here and here. Now i passed "Still waiting for root device" BUT, stuck in "iobluetoothhcicontroller setconfigstate calling registerservice" any sugges? I am increasingly near the installation I tried for a week. you have a laptop, then you have probably forgotten to install the driver for keyboard and touchpad. you can search google for suitable driver for your hardware or try this here I boot my Intel laptop with the following boot flag: arch = x86_64 cpus =1 , maybe it will help how far are you with your installation? spakk
Now i'm stuck in "Still Waiting for root device" Once again, it appears sometimes, sometimes yes sometimes no, Why? and only pass with -x Sorry, I was of the assumption that you have a laptop. did you have installed all the necessary chipset drivers? SuperVIATA.kext?your BIOS settings are correct? than boot with flag: npci=0x3000 PCIRootUID=0 GraphicsEnabler=No -x ?

unimatrix725
Here is the new kernel, opemu enhanced for SSE3 emulation (some P4's with 64bit and early Athlon64 cpu's require SSE3 emulation). Test please I wish I knew... I don't have a clue why the NVidia GPU's don't work. (I have a NVidia Geforce 8300 GS and I also use this kernel... it seems to work fine, but I have Intel :X) This *maybe* stupid but I will ask anyway. Have you tried EFI Strings for the GPU?? Has anyone else tried EFI Graphic Strings for any NVIDIA Cards? Under Snow Leo I have better results with them than any kext, enabler/injector, chimera/chameleon. Still having my own unrelated issues with Lion/ML.

MadMungo
fsb=<busspeed in mhz> busratio=<muliplier> Should work Nope dose not work andy, still get instant reboot after loading of kexts. I can confirm that this is/could be something to do with CPU speed/bus speed detection, as whilst testing Lion pure 64-bit kernels, I removed the busratio=20 boot flag and theconnactic's Lion 64-bit mode kernel instantly rebooted after kexts where loaded. Put back busratio=20 and boots to desktop ok. There needs to be some indepth investigation for FX (Bulldozer & Piledriver) cpu's me thinks as there are NO reports of any installs getting past the loading of kexts. MadMungo
Ok so there is, I stand corrected. BUT is this on a live machine, actual hardware OR in emulation, VirtualBox/VmWare? If it is on actual hardware then I would like to get the kernel and what he used to make the install image so I could give it a go.

theconnactic
Yeah, i'm also surprised, Justin! Thanks for this. It appears to be the same error repeating itself ad infinitum. Best regards! P.S.: can you post this on www.netkas.org forum to see what the OpenGL gurus there say about it, without specifying you're running an AMD machine, of course? Thank you again. Mad Marcsen
Ah, now i know what you mean with underclocking I can try. I have all the tools installed and could underclock my ati as much as possible. Haven't tried that yet though. But i will restart and patch my BIOS now... Edit: So, back again. I tried to underclock my 5670 as much as possible. The slowest possible setting was around 100/100. Going deeper isn't possible, because the screen is so corrupted that i can't even log in. Anyway, underclocking doesn't work either. Still the same problems with graphics. @rasmus: are you willing to test to flash your graphics bios to "disable" the power saving mode on your 6850? Btw, there are some people in the apple forums that experience the same issues when using chrome, html5 or even youtube... making their screen garbage. spakk
Ok so there is, I stand corrected. BUT is this on a live machine, actual hardware OR in emulation, VirtualBox/VmWare? If it is on actual hardware then I would like to get the kernel and what he used to make the install image so I could give it a go. I think this is the live machine from Gils!!
