theconnactic
Going to try the newest CC on my AMD rig (10.9.5, latest Bronzovka's) this week. Will report the results here. Wish me luck!
mrjayviper
I've been using this kernel (http://www.hackintoshosx.com/files/file/4254-bsa-1095-fx-rc1/) before and I decided to try Bronya's RC5_b. On the BSA kernel, I don't have to use -F chameleon flag. While on the Bronya kernel (using the included boot file as well), if I don't use -F, the system reboots automatically. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong? thanks

J0hny
Hello there! I've decide to test 10.9.5 and it's successful! There is screenshot: But I have a question, as you can see that in CPU-X is no 3 level cache, and also I look here: And here 3 level cache is 24MB, should it be like that? Do I have to worry about it?

J0hny
Alright, I've tried this boot file, but on startup get GUI: Error. But I've found this boot file in bronya post with kernel_rc5 and I was be able to boot into bootloader, but then strange thing happen - I couldn't boot into system while with clover r3229 or chameleon r2700+ are no problem... Strange, maybe tomorrow I try figure it out...upd. No, still can't boot into system, but thank you glis83 for your help. The most important is that every app is working without crashes, and that's very good!upd2. Wait a minute! I was finally able to boot with your boot file, the GUI: Error was because of theme I've used. I delete theme and booted into bootloader in default style and I was even able to boot into system! But still L3 Cache is 24MB, here screenshot: The only difference is that CPU now is recognized as Intel Xeon. Bronya
Hmmm this strange ... in terminal correct show l3 cache with "sysctl -a" ! But in profile is wrong , maybe this profile is wrong for amd . in 10.10 Yosemite correct shows in profile ! if 24 mb - this 6 Mb * 4 cores = 24 mb ! This strange )))))))))))))
J0hny
Yes indeed it's strange.))) I've checked it with sysctl and you're right: So as I suppose it's cosmetic, but still it's weird... And yes, in Yosemite every thing is correct in profile...
oliveiro
Hi ! I fixed small mistake ... And added for VIA CPU "CentaurHauls" . Try kernel 10.9.5_rc5_c ! mach_rc5_c.zip Hi Bronya. First of all, a big thank for the huge work you do on all these kernels. I've been using 10.9.5 rc1 for a while, everything was stable, except CPU getting high sometimes, rare Screensavers Lockups and a problem with login to appstore or itunes store. So I'm giving a try to your latest rc5c : good news this solved the com.apple.coreADI crash that was preventing from login to apple stores. But I still have the annoying problem of CPU spiking : every 4 or 5 minutes, some processes use high cpu for about 90 seconds, and so on. The first time I noticed it, I was using VLC and Safari(video playing). VLC which usually uses 50% cpu (1080p playing), was going up to 200% for about 90 sec. Then I discovered than I could reproduce the CPU load with 2 instances of VLC, or 2 apps of any kind playing HD video. My CPU is quadcore, so any 2 processes playing HD video would use 200% cpu each, 400% both... max CPU reached... and players start to freeze (errors in vlc are : mmco: unref short failure / illegal short term buffer state detected / avcodec decoder error) Recently I encounter the same CPU behavior with REAPER alone. This is a DAW, not using video, but with heavy audio usage (virtual instruments, plugins etc) : if I simply play a song, for about 4 min CPU is average 90%, and then jumps to 400% for 90 sec... audio stutters. So my first guess (tracking a problem related to h264 and video buffers) was wrong. Audio is also related to the cpu load. But even if I use 2 different sound devices, with 2 different drivers (VoodooHDA / m-Audio), the CPU spikes occurs. Looks like any kind of heavy audio or video stream would hit the cpu every 5 minutes or so ... Please do you have any clue or advice for me ? Bien que c'est en effet ce qui nous a ralenti pendant quelques mois. ----- hey there gils, without investigating more I cannot say what is wrong, it could be cache coherency issues, that was indeed what slowed our effort down for a good many months after all. Bronya could you disable stripping kernel symbols, this will help ppl figure what is going on in kernel panics. Afaik I had this done in my kernel builds
