Mad Marcsen
Riddle me this, Batmen. How is 10.8 running on MacPro1,1's if neither Xeon offered in that model is SSSE3 capable? hmm, according to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_Pro the first mac pro's were delivered with xeon woodcrest cpu's. woodcrest however were the first xeon cpu's _with_ ssse3: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSSE3 or am i wrong? Mad Marcsen
ah, i'm sorry... i justed popped in here and made a statement without introduction or something... i'm sorry first i wanna thank all you guys for your hard work.... especially AnV, theconnactic, sinetek and all the other osx-guru's who made this alive. AnV, the father of a co-worker also had a hepatitis. his therapy took him about half a year or so... but now he's feeling fine again. i whish you all the best.... i'm following this thread since the beginning. i cannot help you much, but i will test as soon as it get's more stable. phenom II 965be here. AnV, from your kernel log i saw that you're using the superviaata... does this one also work with ati chipsets? Ahh.. and sorry if my english isn't the best (particularly in grammar), i'm german and hadn't talked english for a long time... but i think you can understand
mac_carol
I'm currently building a debug version of the kernel. Please when I post it try it with boot flag debug=1 and next boot debug=255 Then post me results... posting soon... Here it is: the debug kernel Test it with debug=1 and debug=255 Lets hope it shows us more... Kernel is LP64 is part of bsd_init.c btw... Keep me posted NOTE: I had to remove the ssse3emu code for being able to build the debug kernel... don't bother trying -enable_ssse3emu with this kernel... Try it please Testing your debug kernel with ML 10.8.2 I got the AppleACPIPlatform KP with either debug=1 or debug=255 1. debug=1 2. debug=255 And the FSB freq. detection still has not been corrected

mac_carol
The TSC Sync is the reason why it panics. it reported that the fsb freq=420MHz instead of 200MHz and here is the real freq. which was reported when I run the Lion 10.7.5 with R:A:W:X86's 11.4.0 kernel
iFIRE
try this boot boot flag: FixFSB=Yes
mac_carol
VoodooTSCSyncAMD.kext.zip Thanks but the result is still the same: the false freq & the TSC panic try this boot boot flag: FixFSB=Yes still no luck... same result
SS01
It would appear that the TSC detection only works in arch=i386. Yet another thing that needs patching! P.S. Hope you get well Andy

Andy Vandijck
Just some information: right now at the hospital. They took a little piece of liver with a punction. The worst part is when the doc had to anesthesise it. The fact that he had to 4 times use that punction needle wasn't very fun either. Now I have to lay down 2 hours on my side lol X-)
AkimoA
ouch ...get some rest did anyone try latest build of the kernel with cparm and anvs module bootloader since fsb for K8 was fixed in there awhile ago .... just wondering
mac_carol
try boot with this boot flag : cpus=1 thanks again I don't know if this is a good news or not now the result is getting further... IT'S ABLE TO GET PASSED THE "Kernel is LP64" !!! but then it get stuck at the "Ethernet..." line
SS01
@mac_carol if possible, remove ethernet card. otherwise try removing the kext. Anything after Kernel is LP64 is in ring 1 or 2, and not at the kernel level - probably a generic hackintosh issue. also, what CPU are you using? For those of us not going through what you're going through, it sounds pretty rough. You seem in good spirits about it. Keep that up and get well! Now, I'm still using v2.2-r2117 recommended by theconnactic it's able to report my actual freqs.correctly within the Lion 10.7.5 (legacy) @mac_carol if possible, remove ethernet card. otherwise try removing the kext. SS01
EDIT: Mac_carol, what kernel were you using? debug? and were you using AnV's patched launchd? By golly, I think we've done it. Launchd has started on an AMD CPU. We just need to correct the minor issues such as Ethernet, and we'll likely boot to the desktop! spakk
Sorry guys, I booted with Andy's Debug_kernel. Several pages are booted. I have a question where I can find the debug file. i mean the folder in which I find the debug-file on OSX, so I can upload the full file here. PS: AkimoA, I boot only with cparm bootloader
