daz1uk
Are there any benefits in installing a retail copy of lion over an iAtkos copy, apart from copyright issues?
rlf
Even ignoring the copyright issues (send $30 to Tim Cook), a lot of people would say that installing a distro like iAtkos LS is bad, bad, bad. I disagree because I have analyzed iAtkos LS and as long as you stick to the default settings, it is not really any worse than installing retail. Here is what iAtkos LS installs with default settings: 10.7.2 Chameleon 2.1 r1650 An Extra folder with org.chameleon.Boot.plist and smbios.plist GraphicsEnabler and BuiltinEthernet are set to Yes FakeSMC in SLE Disabler in SLE (NullCPUPowerManagement.kext) Legacy RTC in SLE (ElliottForceLegacyRTC.kext) EvOReboot in SLE So, if you can manage to boot the DVD, it is a reasonable way to install Lion 10.7.2. But if you can't boot the DVD, then changing the boot files is difficult and then retail is the way to go.
