navendugoyal Posted May 7, 2012 Share Posted May 7, 2012 i have a vanilla os lion 10.7.3 running on HP Pavillion dv 6 with i7 2670 qm 8 gb ram 720 gb hd intel hd 3000 with 1920 x 1080 resolution - fully working ati radeon 7470 1gb i have a strange problem . the display is identified fine with full qe/ci but the brightness is slighly low as compared to Windows 7 which i am dual booting the strangest part is that if i put the computer to sleep and then wake it up , i get full brightness , same as in windows 7. how can i fix this and get full brightness without going to sleep mode . navendugoyal Posted May 8, 2012 Author Share Posted May 8, 2012 it gives me a operation not permitted error while doing chown. also i would like to add that my brightness slider works well oob but the maximum is lower than the maximum level in windows 7 which i am dual booting . i get the same max level as in windows when the computer wakes from sleep Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
TUX FIRE Posted May 8, 2012 Share Posted May 8, 2012 the problem is when u boot, the mac doesn't check if it on AC power or not, u can verify that, shutdown your mac, remove the battery and keep just the Ac power, turn on the mac, once on desktop go to About this mac --> more information --> power, and u'll see that actual energy source it's the Battery.
