Devout
So I installed on my AMD x6 system, and I got SL (10.6) running then mounted and installed iAtkos L2. The install failed (towards the end), but I still added kernel and installed chameleon. But now the kexts load, but then the PC reboots. Any ideas? GTX 560 ti, 16GB ram, ASUS M4A87TD EVO. Right before it reboots: Also there is some stuff about SMBIOS is there Should be able to boot without a DSDT.aml, just write "DSDT=Fake.aml" when entering verbose mode. Can you provide more of the log? Picture?

If it works in version 4, maybe version 6 (revised) doesn't support your processor. I haven't used the latest kernels either. O didn't install one. I tried the DSDT=fake.aml. It has worked for me on my Gigabyte 970A-UD3 board also. The site that I linked to in the sentence above also shows how the Niresh 10.7.3 V2 version was installed onto the same board with little to no problems!!! Check out its Niresh Success page. Which video driver did you choose during your install?? There should have been an NVidia choice inside the "Customize" menu.
new2hacintosh
I am having a GIGANTIC problem. I followed your guide and the install worked perferctly...Kudos to you!!! My issue is with not having finder working at all. Since it is not working I cannot get to any folders(of course) and cannot install any drivers. I partitioned the drive with the "old" drive labeled Snow and the second partition labeled iAtkos. Even when I boot into Snow and install the ethernet driver onto the iAtkos partiton, then boot into iAtkos...I don't have ethernet due to the fact that the network "program" wants me to set it up via dhcp or manual or however. Before I can do any of this it's window closes, erroring out. I have tried placing mucommander and Xfolders into the applications folder but I can't even see the Applications folder in the iAtkos partition to try to install it. I have read posts in this forum explaining that the finder or some program in "DP2" is used instead but is that referring to the finder in Mountain Lions Dev 2 or what exactly is that referring to and how do I get to it/download it for install into my iAtkos partition. spidy86
hi i tried your guide...i had a working sl 10.6.8 with chameleon bootloader + legacy kernel and plist with description: <key>Kernel</key> <string>legacy_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=i386</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>LoginToLion</string> <key>Rename Partition</key> <string>"System Reserved" Windows-8</string> <key>Boot Banner</key> <string>No</string> Step 1. now as per guide i installed iatkosL2 and replaced mach_kernel with Brazonka's-v4 made the new kernel invisible, replaced finder now i allready have chamleon installed so i didnt touched it and tried passing: -legacy -v arch=i386 npci=0x2000 and once with npci=0x3000 -legacy usekernelcache=no -v -f chameleon gave "cant find legacy_kernel" Step 2. changed legcay_kernel to mach_kernel tried to boot lion with -v but restarts saying starting mac os can anyone tell me what do i need to do? new2hacintosh
Here is the Finder.app extracted from Mac OS X Lion Developer Preview 2. It has 32 bit support, so you can use it with the AMD kernel for Lion. Copy it to /System/Library/CoreServices. Make sure to repair permissions using Disk Utility before rebooting. I booted into my Snow partition and moved the finder.app file to my iAtkos partition's /System/Library/CoreServices folder...then repaired permissions thru Disk utility like the instructions said. I then rebooted into my iAtkos partition finder now works. I could then get into my Snow partition and install the nic driver from one of the folders where the driver file was located. Now everything works great. In the FAQ section someone asked: Is it possible to replace mach_kernel and finder in Windows? Your response was yes they could....wouldn't they need to repair permissions after that?? Just wondering. I can confirm that It works on a Biostar A780L motherboard using an AMD X3 720 BE (that is unlocked to a quad core X20) running at 3.2 GHz
new2hacintosh
The OS installed by following this guide has worked very well. The only thing I cannot get it to do is boot into OS X without typing -legacy -v npci=0x3000 everytime. Is there a way for me to not have to type it EVERYTIME I want to get into the OS then it would be even better!! If I boot into my SL partition and change the boot.plist file by choosing the iAtkos partition, some of the changes work and some of them don't. The first pic shows what my bootplist looks like now. I added the line npci=0x3000 by editing the bootplist in SL then repairing permissions thru disk utility. If I take out the npci=0x2000 line and leave the npci=0x3000 by itself it hangs on bootup. Even though I added the line npci=0x3000 in the bootplist I still have to type the bootflag to get into the OS. If I don't type it the screen looks like the second pic which is some sort of graphics hieroglyphics. If I add the flag legacy=yes to the bootplist by editing thru the SL partition then the system hangs during bootup also. Any and all information/assistance to remedy this situation would be greatly appreciated.
