No, I just fixed the errors, nothing else. I am not sure where to apply my dsdt patch in your case and even if i do i wouldn't know which frambuffer to use in it.That's why i told you to run few tests with the kext i made for you. You need a working framebuffer first, than DSDT injection.

Hey, @Trucker MK I managed to get a hex dump of my AMD 6490M. Will it serve any purpose ...say for eg, feeding it into chameleon via a device property string? Please let me know.

I don't know that. Share the file and maybe i or someone else  will get something out of it.

Not sure why pure dsdt extract cannot be compiled. I don't have dsdt loaded currently.

 

This is not correct at all. If you don't use a patched DSDT, it doesn't mean you don't use any DSDT at all. Hackintosh can't work without one. In case you have no DSDT.aml in Extra folder, original DSDT extracted from BIOS is used ( basically the same original DSDT you extracted and posted a few pages ago ).

Why would you do that? If you want to inject video bios though device-properties instead of DSDT, it makes sense to inject also other properties with the same string to enable the card instead of DSDT injection from the first post. I think this is very nice way to enable the card. At least you have clean DSDT. And that's how it's done on real Mac's.

Anyway, the problem is that you probably won't be able to do this with Chameleon. For some reason Tauio111 couldn't inject such string through Chameleon a few pages ago. Either Chameleon is not able to parse such long string or he made a syntax mistake in his config. But I have this injection working with Clover.

Hello Trucker I have a Acer Aspire 7750G-6634

 

The built-in laptop display doesn't work although the backlight is on.

The GPU is an AMD Radeon HD-6650M 1 GB VRAM

Some help with that would be awesome!

EDIT=I know what you mean, but I tried a while ago and it didn't work. I'm assuming that yours was 2GB VRAM and mine is 1GB VRAM

Download the kext for your OS X Version from here, install and boot with GraphicsEnabler=Yes AtiConfig=Ipomoea

Wow, this font looks scary :D At least for me :D

In fact, even in the same laptop there may be different graphics card (different subsystem id for example). You can't say those kexts will work 100% unless he posts his video bios. If LVDS sense id==7, internal screen will never work with your kexts and without EDID injection. IMO in this case it's very possible scenario if he has

,having in mind that you have different amount of VRAM and your notebooks are not really the same - you have Acer 7750G-2674 and he has Acer 7750G-6634.

Let"s here from cukan18, which kext have you tried? From Downloads 1 or Downloads 2, I"m sure you tried from Downloads 1, this kexts needs DSDT edits to work. You should have mentioned this and some other things in first place when you asked for help.

Ok, once you feel comfortable for DSDT patching, getting your VBIOS, or just providing these to us, let us know and we will make it work with DSDT patches + kext. We all prefer this method, but for now this should do it.

As for the kext it didn't work =(

Here is my DSDT (extracted with DSDTSE [Hopefully its the right thing])

I don't want to make the load of stuff heavier on you but could you send me a battery kext? (The sticker says 6-Cell Li-on battery if that helps)

Also could you pleaje tell me how to get my VBIOS --¬

Let"s here from cukan18, which kext have you tried? From Downloads 1 or Downloads 2, I"m sure you tried from Downloads 1, this kexts needs DSDT edits to work. You should have mentioned this and some other things in first place when you asked for help.

You can also mention how to get video bios there. Surely it would be easier to find it there than in the thread.

I do have a BIOS option to switch between 'switchable' and 'integrated' .…

Switch to integrated and use Intel HD3000. And forget that Radeon ever existed on your notebook. What else can we suggest? Switchable graphics does not work on Hackintosh, even if you have the same nVidia or Radeon card they used in real Macs.

I think i've read somwhere that you need to use MacBookPro 8,1 SMBIOS.plist (use ChameleonWizard to create one) for the HD3000 to work, but not sure, i might be wrong.

I would, no matter what i say at the and i always try to help, but you have switchable graphics and there's no need, because it can't work.

Last option (which i definitely not recommend), moded BIOS with option to disable the HD3000, IF there is one made for your laptop model (even in this case i bricked my laptop a year ago).

Just stick to the HD3000.
