Has anyone got iMessage working on Mountain Lion? I've installed everything fine (except audio) and iCloud and the app store work, but I can't log into messages, it keeps saying "The server encountered an error processing registration". I've tried with a different Apple ID and the same occurs.

Any ideas?

I have just obtained Mt lion, i'm guessing installibng aint hard however this system crashes a lot and isn't worth taking it for a whirl in its current state? Please let me know if I should waste my time? Probably will get it to run in vmware first and see how it goes.

Regular Chameleon from the trunk source, even the latest version r1822, hasn't been updated for ML. You need a patched version, such as the one included in the tutorial at http://thetecherra.com/2012/02/17/tutorial-run-os-x-mountain-lion-10-8-on-a-pc-hackintoshosx86-from-start-to-finish/ (in the zip file).

Yeah, I figured it out, got everything working now, thanks for you reply :)

I got one problem though, chameleon doesn't seem to find my other disks :-/

I got 5 disks, 2 of them are Mac (guid) formatted, one with the mt lion install on, the other is a plain data disk

The other 3 disks are windows / ntfs formatted.

The thing is, only one mac disk and one windows disk is showing...

Any suggestions...?

I think this is a chameleon issue, cause it was all working 1.5 hours ago with my current lion 10.7.3 chimera install.

Are you saying that the Chameleon boot menu doesn't include every OS you might want it to boot? Or do you mean that after mt lion boots some disks are missing?

done some research, and it seems like chameleon shows all but one disk (the other mac guid formatted data disk).

and when mt lion has booted, it shows the one mac formatted (with mt lion, doo) and one of the windows disks, not the other mac formatted data disk...

I don't expect Chameleon to show every disk or partition, but it should show every partition that contains an OS it knows how to boot. In mt lion, if disks are missing from Disk Utility or from the System Report, I'd guess it must be some kind of driver issue with mt lion.

Here are chameleons 1819 I compiled and were used to boot 10.8. I haven't tested them myself!

1. Tested by my friend that boots ONLY 10.8. (maybe also Snow Leopard, I don't know)

2. NOT TESTED that should be able to boot any OS X system. It compiled fine.

Thanks to MietasSR for help.

I will try to post diff file tomorrow, if second version of the file works fine.

No more SystemVersion editions are required.

I haven't installed Mountain Lion. Please don't ask me how to install this! I just edited Chameleon.

janek202,

boot_only108_by_janek202.zip works great. Big thx!

Any chance you provide diff for it please?

Thanks

Install worked on the first try. I upgraded my Lion installation, booted into Snow Leopard, deleted all graphics kexts and AppleHDA.kext, repaired permissions, rebooted, and success!

So I was able to prepare a HD with the installer and Chamaleon. The system boots fine and starts to load however I get stuck on "Still waiting for root device". I have tried with and without boot flags, SMBIOS.plist, DSDT/NullCPUPowerManagement. No matter what I try I will always get stuck at the same spot. Normally installing OS X DPs have been easy, since I have a real iMac. However Apple pulled a fast one and iMac5,1 is not supported by ML. :( My system specs are in my signature (and are current). What am I missing?

Not seen that one before^

At first I thought it was my overclock, but after removing that I got a slightly different panic which I figured meant it was my SSDT.

So I tried without my SSDT and using GenerateP/CStates which boots but only gets me 2 P states (16 & 33, no Turbo Boost). Any ideas?

Besides waiting for the next DP :P

I've got a patched UEFI avoiding the need to use Speedstepper, so that's unlikely to be the problem. Lion works fine with the exact same SSDT :/

Backup the kexts before you do this, but try deleting those three kexts that show up in your kernel panic and see if that helps you boot. Delete them from the ML installation S/L/E, should do the trick. Don't worry about the dependencies.

Well since I'd quite like to have speedstep working, deleting the kexts (or using NullCPUPM) isn't really an option...

I used the user_01's method in page 4, then installed the compatible chameleon (with machine configured to iMac 11,3, graphics enabler=yes etc, to the external drive so it could boot. I got the files from this tutorial; http://thetecherra.c...tart-to-finish/.

Graphics work fine with graphics enabler=yes, ethernet works with RTL kexts in the extra folder. Joining the search and address bar to one in new safari is a nice touch.

My 0dB setup (yes no noise, no fans) is as follows;

Hackintosh; P7P55D-E PRO motherboard with a Core i7 8GB RAM Zotac GT 430 1GB silent video card

NOFAN Set A400 (case, CPU cooler and PSU)

OCZ Vertex 2 SSD 120GB

I have the same problems here. What do you mean with "Canel your :Kernelcache"? Delete any files in the folder or just remove UseKernelcache=Yes from com.chameleon.boot.plist?

Hi all!

I am trying to install the Mountain Lion DP1 in VMWare 8.0.1 on Windows 7,without any success.

When the Lion came out I installed it in VMWare without any problem, there was like a million guides for that,

but I cannot find any (Windows) guide for Mountain Lion DP1.

I installed the Unlocker (1.0.2), It sill cannot boot the ML, freezes at the grey Apple logo.

The error: http://i.imgur.com/P3g6U.png

Can anybody help me ?
