Hi Everyone!

I came here to look for help. I owned a 2006 MacBook Pro and I really loved the OS X experience. Sadly, because of school, I was forced to run Windows on it most of the time. Running x64 Windows 7 on a 2006 MacBook Pro is hell because of the shoddy drivers Apple gives. Now I have a Dell laptop and I came to this place to figure out if it could give me the full OS X experience again.

Hello everyone,

I'm Nalyd_Relwof, my goal is to plan and eventually build a working Mac OS X hackintosh using the Off-the-shelf official version of OS X in order to use some Mac only software (ProPresenter and iLife). Currently I haven't really gotten my hardware figured out, but that's going to be a question for another post. I'm not exactly new to tweaking my system, as I have used several Linux distributions (Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, #!) and have gotten comfortable with the Terminal, as well as managing files in system directories. I can't wait to start posting and learning about OSx86!

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the Mac OS/Hackintosh Scene but my first try I got Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.6 running on my Toshiba Qosmio and everything is working perfectly except my wireless. I can't seem to get that to work.

Funny thing is, I literally booted from an ##### Disc, and on my other "Real Mac" I made a USB installation disc on my 16 GB Sandisk Thumb Drive (It was created from the retail 10.6.3 Install Disc), and then in ##### the USB Snow Leopard Installer showed up, I selected it, installed Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3 and it literally boots right up as long as I use #####. I updated to 10.6.6 which caused everthing in the Laptop (Qosmio Hackintosh) to be fully functional, including the touchpad, sound, graphics drivers (Nvidia), etc... Like I said, the only thing not working is the Wireless. Hopefully I can figure that out by the end of the day LOL.

Anyway, it's nice to meet you all and I look forward to being a long time member and contributor to this site. Once I get this "Hackintosh" stuff down and learn Mac OS a bit better, I'm sure I'll be a major help around here as I'm already a Windows and Linux Guru. I just never used Macs until now but I'm loving them. Especially my new Qosmio Hackintosh Laptop which is running SL 10.6.6 like a dream (Running better than it does on my real Mac LOL).

Take care everyone and thanks to all who have contributed to this site and made it possible for me to successfully create my first Hackintosh (even though I got lucky and it was really easy with this laptop).

If anyone wants my laptop specs just let me know and I'll post whatever you request. It may help others get SL 10.6.6 running on their Toshiba Qosmio.

I believe the model of my Qosmio is an X305-705 (I'll get more exact specs later if needed).

Howdy,

New to this and getting ready to jump into a Dual boot Snow Leopard/Vista Business install on a Dell Precision 6300.

It looks like others have had some success, but a fair amount of this is greek to me still so I'm sure I'll be on here with questions if I can't figure it out myself.

I'm pretty much a network guy, working in Cell Tower Data Backhaul provisioning for most of the major Cell Carriers.

Wish me luck !

Hi guys!

This is a wonderful community, tho I am very puzzled at how hard it is to contribute, starting with the rule about new users only having the option to post in the new users lounge.

I am a 25 year old computer science student with a growing love for apple software.

Thanks for all the info already posted...

See you^^
