I'm Mark... my brother has always been a big fan of Macs but he's got the disposable income to blow on the overpriced machines. I run Micro$oft at home as well as support it in my business. I have several Linux machines (mostly Ubuntu) at the house and have built some slax distros for kiosk machines in my business. Recently discovered the hackint0sh community and am hoping to breathe new life into this old P4 box that's been sitting in my office untouched for years.

Thanks in advance to all who contribute and I wish you all well in your ventures. Cheers...

Hello everyone,

I'm Pierre from France~ Been using OSX mostly in a virtualised environnement the last few months for developing iPhone (and more recently OSX) apps. Built 2 hackintosh so far but having the pleasure of running Win7 and virtualising all my development environnement (Linus/OSX) in it has been by far the most convenient way for me.

Regarding that I just subscribed recently to contribute to posts relating to the last developments of VMware video drivers by Zenith432 who's doing a wonderful job for most people in the same situation as I am. I'd like to take the opportunity to thanks Donk and Albert who have also been a great help regarding Vmware OSX virtualisation.

(Last thing I wondered if I could be exempt from the minimum 10 posts in user lounge to start posting in the "Multi-booting and Virtualisation" forum if there's a mod around, thanks!)

Pierre.

Hi everyone. I'm corey, 19, from New Jersey. I have had 2 old Macs in the past (a tray-loading iMac G3 running 9.2.2 and a slot loading G3 with 10.4.2) and I've heard about the OSx86 project for a while now. Being a somewhat bored computer whiz here, I'd like to put it to some use, and theres where OSx86 comes in.

Just a quick hello,

I have been using normal mac hardware for years but it's all still PPC. Since I do own some intel hardware for linux purposes I have recently begun dabbling with osx86. A *LOT* of trial and error. NEver realised how well a mac truly works  I'm not used to rebooting and trying a gazillion combinations anymore :dev:

Anyway, you might find one or two questions popping up from me on the forum I do try however to stick to searching till I drop

Greetings everyone,

I started with the Commodore 64/128 at home, and in School with the early Macs. Amiga became extremely popular as it was the first PC that actually had RAM beyond all limits, the first with stereo sound, about opened the door to True Multi-Tasking. I was sold. I still have my Amiga 4000 (Highly Modified and hacked) and use it once in while.

Amiga and Mac paved the way to what we have Now. Micro$oft..well, still the commercial Pirate.

I liked the original Macs, but none of them gave access to the OS...at least from a User or Power User usage. :D I was one of many who was FORCED to use Windows. After some years I decided, "It's a Tool...You don't have to Love it." Which gave way to...checking it for each incarnation.

My "Heart" is with Amiga. Always will be. However, OS 10 is One Major Step in the Right direction! The Amiga was made to be a User or Hackers machine. So, as you can tell..I'm Embraced Mac 10 or X also. MMmmm...Yeah! I ran a BBS with the Commodore 64 back in the 80s. It was awesome, we shared a lot of ideas...and stuff.

I've enjoyed watching the Internet go from Baby to getting some maturity. I don't like Flash much still, but...whatever. These forums remind me a lot of BBSes. Very cool interaction and for the most part Flaming is very low.

Amiga is dead, as far as hardware...and Linux ROCKS! It really nice to see Mac where it is now. The Prices are bloody high, but I own some Macs also... I also love my Hackint0sh. HAH! I'll also type for now which won't matter later as change is constant...Thanks to here, I have my XFX ATI 5750 working Great with 10.6.6. <<-- Yes, typed correctly.

So..greetings to All, and may we all exchange information and have Fun doing so. :)

Max Headroom for President! Hahahaha. Rush'N'Roll!

My "age" doesn't matter as we're ALL kids. Where I'm from...Earth, at least in this incarnation. I am Very Much about Self-Awareness, Getting Along with Others, Ignoring Trolls and Spammers. Beer is GOOD, Sex is Better and Computers..are Wonderful tools to everything else.

Peace!

Hi all,

I'm new here but this looks like a great forum. I'm looking forward to getting stuck in & helping where I can (although I'm pretty much a noob at hackintoshing!)

I've (almost) successfully modded my Dell Inspiron 1545. Only things that aren't working are the wireless & the screen freezes if I leave the computer unattended for a few mins.

I'm here however, to try and hackintosh my Shuttle SB83G5M. I've got a retail snow leopard disk (authentic) so I'll keep track of my trials & errors & let you know if I succeed.
