Hi, I'm Dakota. I just recently joined these forums as they have been a lot of help to me turning my old dinosaur of a computer into a hackintosh. It is an old gateway e6000 lol. ill attach the specs if anyone wants to see how old it actually is. Running OS X Leopard 10.5.7 right now and have all my drivers working. system_specs_for_gateway_e6000.rtf

hi all. i have a question. how come when i post a topic in new users lounge, it pushes me back to the index, and i cant see my topic????

well my problem is here

i installed os x on my p45 board using iatkos, worked fine. today, i installed a 10,6,5 update package that iatkos came with, and installed the update. well i went into chameleon again, and tried to boot into 7, because i had installed os x on a different partition. but it wouldnt work. after the update, os x told me to reboot, and restart, but that message stayed. what can i do? i still need the windows 7 installation, i mainly want to fix that.

Do not ask questions here. Do not tell us your problems with OS X.

For questions and help open a new topic.

So, if you people read the stickies, especially the ones marked as very important, everything would be easier.

Well, I've not posted all that much really, just been mostly lurking for 98% of the time. I don't have quite the post count to let me continue posting now, so hmm...be I guess that I will be here to show you who be I am.

Don't really need help or info at the moment. Have my i7 system up and running along with an older AMD system working as a media center (going to be replaced). Then I just added to the mix a used HP Mini 1035NR I picked up on the real dirt cheap.

All retail, no distro. Finally had to do dsdt stuff to get the netbook working but ALL WORKS on the netbook, so that is fantastic!

Other than that, ya, I just be me. Opinionated me.

Hello all!

I have fiddled around with OSx86 project before... years ago but never really succeded to have a working system for any more than a week and stopped after a while.

Now though, bought a Mac Mini as a media center for my home and realised how awsome OSX is!

Now I want it to my work computer HP 2530p and my HP mini 5101! - Anyone have tips? Please send me a PM :)

Later if everything works out I'd like to get a working dualboot copy to my workstation ASUS P6T-Deluxe V2

I hope to gather information here about how to get it to work..

Hello

I have been a Hackintosh user for about 2 years, thanks mainly to all the efforts and contributions on this forum.

My system was originally set-up via the Boot132 Vanilla OS 10.5 Vanilla install method. It worked reasonably well but I avoided any system updates to keep things running. Sleep never worked.

I recently upgraded to 10.6.6 thanks to Chameleon via #####+##### (#####), a far easier and pain-free upgrade in comparison to editing boot partition etc! I am finally hoping to tackle the sleep issue with "sleepenabler".

Chameleon is awesome combined with the efforts of the Hackintosh community, a big THANKYOU to all. All your efforts have encouraged me to once again dive into setting up a new system, or upgrading my current one.

Cheers

John

My Hackintosh set-up:

Gigabyte GA-EP35-DSR3

EVGA 8800GTX 512MB

Intel Q6600 Quad Processer (OC @ 3.2GZ)

Tuniq CPU Cooling tower

Corsair 520HX PSU

8gb DDR2 RAM

300GB Seagate Barracuda Boot Drive

2x 500gb Western Digital 7200rpm (media/storage)

Asus WL-138G V2 Wireless G PCI Card

PCI Firewire Card

Cooler Master Centurion Case

Everything is working on OS 10.6.6 except Sleep. I have not been able to get "sleepenabler" to work.
