Hi folks! Just got in here.

I'm really glad to be part of this helpful community. I recently purchased a Mac Netbook and I'm still familiarizing myself with it.

Hi, my name is Leo, and I am an addict a new forum member :)

My humble computer hardware includes Macmini (almost ancient mid-2011, i5 "Sandy Bridge", 8gb memory), running macOS 10.12.5 Sierra (plus a few Linux distros under VirtualBox, mostly for testing); Asus Zenbook DX31U 4gb and Intel DG45ID/Core 2 Duo 8gb based desktop, both running Peppermint OS 8 (based on Debian/Ubuntu).

I was thinking about upgrading my Mac hardware recently, and came to startling realization that a small computer with specifications I need is not available from Apple, and whatever they offer these days, I dislike for various reasons. So, I decided to learn more about modern day Hackintoshes, with purpose to build one or two reasonably small, silent and stable machines, running MacOS Sierra or El Capitan (variant: running macOS on virtual machine under Linux host). For new mini-PC I am considering Intel NUC NUC6i7KYK "Skull Canyon", and for new desktop-PC my options are still open (assuming my old Intel DG45ID motherboard is any good, I can start with it, and go from there).

I am glad to be here, and I look forward to new discoveries and friendly exchange of knowledge with like-minded folks :)

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and recently decided to tackle installing a backup of my macOS as a vm on my unRAID system.  I just wanted to pop in here and introduce myself first.  Catch me in the virtualization subforum where I'll probably be asking a million questions. haha.
