Hey everybody. I've built systems before, but never tried a OSx86 build. And since I'm primarily a Mac user, I thought I'd try it for my next HTPC build. I joined the forum years ago, but haven't been looking at OSx86 again until recently.

Hello, My name is Tony and I teach high school social studies in the Alaskan Bush. I worked for many years with PCs and now own a Mac and don't know how I was ever happy using a PC. I am now spoiled forever. I am trying to learn how to install Linux Ubuntu on my Imac so I can have dual boot capability, this will allow me an easier time installing a long range antenna. Something is going on with Mac and the inability to find a range extender/long range antenna that will actually work with anything above OSX 10.9  . Since my wifi is so horribly slow here in the Arctic, I will have to wait overnight for my Ubuntu file to download. I already have disabled SIP and installed the boot loader. I am excited to start using linux and am really looking forward to it. Hopefully this will open doors to installing more hardware with various chipsets that Mac doesn't seem to like. Thank you and I look forward to talking to people and learning more.
