Hey all,

I've been intrigued by the idea of running OS X on a custom PC build since I first heard about a hackintosh. Never built a PC myself, so I expect to face a steeper learning curve than some of you. Looking to eventually get a dual-boot OS X/Win7 swiss army knife of a computer to serve media, play some PC games, and maybe do some website testing for work. Please forgive my stupid noob questions! :( I promise to search the forums before asking them.

New member here. Bought my first Mac (macbook pro) to start developing iOS applications. I've since fallen in love with the Mac OS and am considering purchasing a MacPro and possibly building my kids a Hackintosh machine. If all goes well I would consider building another machine for myself with Sandybridge hardware.

If you would like to introduce yourself, please do it here. Thanks.

Do not ask questions here. Do not tell us your problems with OS X.

What up yo! Been a Mac user before they called it a Mac; yea that's right I once had a Lisa in the house, it was my dad's house, and my dad's Lisa.

My current Mac (PowerMac7,3 / Dual 2 GHz) died a slow death last week, and Apple still won't make an affordable (in these times, that's below $1,000 for me) Macintosh for the graphics professional. Which is why I've decided to take the plunge and build myself a Hockintosh, or sorry, Hackintosh. I've build six PCs over the years to run Windblows for my family members, so it's high time to build one for myself to run OS X.

I've heard this is the place to be to go rouge, so here I am.

Hello world.

I've been a member a couple of years now, but this is my first post.

I've built a couple of machines so far. I started with a Kalyway disc and built a backup server for my home. A Time Capsule didn't offer enough flexibility and I didn't want the router/access point as I already had one I was happy with. I just rebuilt it using a vanilla install, since I do like Apple's products and wanted to pay for the OS.

I have come into possession of an Advantech AIMB-212N MB with an Atom N450. So my goal is to see if I can install either Leopard or Snow Leopard on it. I'm starting with Snow Leopard. Right now, I'm waiting for my retail OS disk to arrive from Apple. In the meantime, my first attempt will be to try the iPortable_Snow install and see how that works. I will post my progress and questions as they come.

just finally decided to get involved in the crowd since i started hackintoshing again. first time wasn't successful but i'm determined with round 2.

i got myself an Acer aspire one 533 netbook which runs like {censored} with every other OS on it, i've always like OSx and decided to try it, and even in a crippled state it runs faster then all the other OS' i've tried haha. other then that i hope i can contribute to the community as so many have helped me lately even with me just reading their posts.
