Hi all you out there!

Im just beginning to fiddle around MacOSx. After almost 25 years of MS OSs I'd like to give a try to OSx without paying for its huge hardware requirements cost at first.

And after looking around, it seems Darwing/64 is the most feasible alternative for installing OSX on a VMWare VM.

I've been VMware light user since its v3; only for experiments ... like this OSX one; so hopefully I'll be able to install it.

Best regards

Hello, my name is Andrew, or VitalSyntax. I've been a LONG time Mac users, my current machine is a MacBook Pro 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 512MB, 500GB HD. I'm also a PS3 gamer, and Computer Science Major at Eastern Washington University, in Washington State.

Anyway enough about me. Here is why I came to the forums: I want to build a Hackintosh PC for Gaming and Graphic Design (Adobe Suite) and replace my current MacBook Pro and PS3 for around $1200. I'm new to the world of Hackintoshs, but I've built a PC before and I'm familiar with the basics of computer hardware.

G'day, eh?! <^8# My name is Bob and I'm a VERY new HackBook user. I've 'completed' my - oh, dozen'th or so - installation of iAtkos v7 on my Acer Aspire One D250-1585 with pretty good luck, and it gets better each time, though I'm still working out audio, Intel GMA950 graphics and Atheros AR5007EG wireless problems. Yes, I've read ALL over the forums about swapping out my wireless card for a DW1510, but if my 'other' OSes can manage it, why not 10.5.8, right? And I remember reading somewhere about someone who managed the wireless problem with NDISWrapper and a Windows driver, so much more to tweak yet.

My background is nearly 25 years of PCs under MANY different versions of MS-DOS and MS-Windows, and about 3 years of immersion into the Linux realm. I've been a programmer in multiple languages, customer support rep, applications user and trainer, computer systems builder, documentation writer, troubleshooter... Pretty much done it all. Except Apple Mac, or anything that came before... (but I am happy I missed the early Motorola and PPC years! <^8#)

When I'd had enough of Windows 'solutions', I sought some - ANY - other alternative, and found the Linux community. Or, the *nix community, might be a better way to characterize it, given that OSX is founded on BSD Unix variants. I'm beginning to think there's some serious validity to the proposition that OSX *is* the most advanced operating system available today.

And it's nice to be here.

Hi, my names dallas tho here and just about everywhere i go by hevihitr.

not used a proper mac since primary school[original Macintosh, the beige menace], , and have stuck to PC's i'm a gamer and i can't go without my FPS grudge matches.

but I started uni this year, majoring in Arts/business, and i have noticed something, i'm going to need a mac, but there is no way i can afford the huge outlay for a halfway decent mac, but wait I have a nice[clevo P150HM/i7/8GB-ddr3/2gb-485M/FHD 15.6LED] lappy, so i have made the choice to try my very best to get a dual boot happening, i know the hardware can handle it.

reason i'm here, i read these forums are my best chance at making this happen.

my friend is also attempting this on his AMD 1055t based PC, my first q;s wll be regarding this, i have no clue, neither does he.

hope to be around, getting help and helping out if I can.

H
